The month I spent at Askari was one of the best life adventures I’ve experienced – it went above and beyond my expectations. The volunteer work we participated in was meaningful and I left feeling I truly contributed to the conservation efforts of the Pidwa reserve. Throughout the month, there was continuous learning through lectures and hands on demonstrations. The... More

The knowledge and friendliness from the staff makes you feel right at home and you will have the privilige to take part in tasks that you never had dreamt of (for example I had the opportunity to take part of dehorning of rhinos). Sometimes it... More

My time at Askari was simply amazing. Joe and Katie are full of knowledge and more than happy to share it. The activities provided a great insight into what is required to run a game reserve. My time at Askari will be one that I will always remember. Thanks Joe and Katie

“It was an unforgettable experience to have seen first-hand how a wilderness reserve operates. I got a great understanding of how, with a combination of vegetation management and animal management, natural habitat can be maintained and so help in the preservation of endangered species. Having the opportunity to get hands on experience was great, particularly the animal capture. The removal... More
