We enjoyed a glass of wine with Brigitte and Gerard - great hosts. This is one of the few chateaus where the rooms were heated. The grounds were lovely as was our room. The other rooms were also great and the whole facility has been upgraded with modern fixtures and such.

Stayed for two nights and would have loved to stay longer, our room was beautifully furnished and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and so were the local restaurants. The manoir is slightly outside the village of Drain and surrounded by woods and gardens, at night we listened to the owls hooting and it was incredibly peaceful. Make sure you... More

Stayed one night in July with my husband and young twins. We had a wonderful experience. Gerard was an amazing host and welcomed us warmly into his home. He allowed my young children to see his collection of old cars and they were allowed to sit in each of them which they found really thrilling. The chateau is full of... More

I visited for 2 days with my wife, everything said before is absolutely correct, Brigitte and Gerard change nothing, you have a lovely house, your service, welcome, attitude, wit, conversation, humour, are 'par excellance!'. The meal and your company were a joy which Jo and I really enjoyed and hope that we can return. Your local knowledge was useful especially... More

A gem. The hosts speak fluent English which helped us a lot. We got lucky in being able to join in a special candle lit dinner. (They don't do this every day.) Great food and local wine.

As per other traveler's raves, the inn is wonderful: Beautiful building and grounds, gracious hosts, excellent value for the price. I wanted to note that with advance reservation the hosts will provide dinner, and it is a wonderful experience: Delicious French homestyle cooking, a graciously appointed table, relaxing hospitality with the hosts and other guests, who dine with you.

We spent two wonderful, peaceful nights with Gerard and enjoyed his company and the stunning restoration of their 1830's manor house. We highly recommend a stay at this neat place.

We have stayed here on two occasions and have now made a series of personal recommendations to our friends. Gerard and Bridgitte have created a stunning property and the warmth of their welcome is unmatched. The accomodation is created out of love rather than commerciality and this becomes aparent as soon as you enter the house. Their personal welcome was... More

A lovely house in a beautiful setting. The drive way approach must be nearly half a mile. The property has been restored and maintained absolutely immacutely. There was really nothing we could find fault with. The room was lovely, I would say 5* standard, with all the amenities one would expect. The period features were a delight. The hosts, Gerard...
