We are used to Relais & Châteaux properties, so expectations are always quite high. Le Fort de l'Ocean managed to exceed such expectations along several dimensions.
First, the location is quite spectacular and special, in the middle of the "wild coast" and the view from the rooms is always extremely refreshing. The rooms are very nicely decorated and well equipped....

A tiny hotel in total number of rooms, but our room was spacious and supremely comfortable, and the staff were some of the best we have met in France. Nothing was too much effort for them. The food was first class - we ate in the restaurant for 5 nights - and the chef can arrange for surprise menus too!
