What a lovely gem on the outskirts of Darjeeling. After 3 weeks of the noise, honking, and cow pie dodging we were thrilled to have found a little piece of heaven for a few days. My husband is a tea drinker and when he saw the tea menu he immediately picked 12 cups he needed to try before we left.... More

We had a great time at Cochrane Place because of the view from our room " Kachenjunga", very cordial staff and the good food served, besides, the herbal tea which is a MUST . Hiccups because of telephone lines not working did happen( in order to pay by card ), but I understood later that the place they get it... More

Took my family for the first time to Cochrane Place as we had heard about it from a friend who visited it last year from the US.Was there for three nights. The Hotel tried to showcase the past in their own way, but the original building was brought down and a copy of the past was remade. However, the views... More

The hotel was a little tired, but the staff were lovely and the rooms were still quite nice. Unfortunately the outside of the windows have not been cleaned in a very long time, which spoils the great views of the valley. The heritage homestead has quirky but clean rooms and surrounds. The restaurant was very good and the tea was... More

I visited twice in quick succession - my first trip was in the third week of June, 2011 when I spent here a couple of nights. I was on a business trip, spent a day with tight schedule in Siliguri. Thanks to my colleague who insisted to take me to this cozy, beautiful place in Kurseong. The carefully maintained surroundings... More

We stayed here in July and it was almost empty, as it is monsoon time: we were given a suite (on the other side from the road) over two storeys with magnificent views over the tea plantations. On some days there was rain or mist, but the views were worth waiting for when the clouds cleared, and the Makaibari tea-estate... More
