Due to Bhutan King's forthcoming wedding at Punakha in october 2011, all hotels were full and we were accomodated in Punatsangchu resort hotel, which was very good. Stayed here two different times over the course of a 17-day trip through Bhutan. It was perfectly adequate, and what you eventually come to expect from Bhutanese accommodation: decent bed, faulty shower, bland buffet food (with breakfast less thrilling than dinner), earnest service. TV and Wi-Fi didn't work during my second visit. More

Our stay in a beautiful riverside room at Punatsangchhu Cottages was majestic. The accommodations were very roomy, clean and comfortable. Arriving here after a full day of sightseeing, it was a pleasant surprise to find this small hotel.
