The rooms are also musty. Their function rooms are the same. You would also hear occasional rats scratching against the wall.
And yes, the food is crappy.
This hotel is not good for families as well. There are guests who bring with them hookers.
GOOD THINGS:
1. Generally, Frontdesk people are excellent except for two (2) ladies who should be trained further in the area of customer service.
2. Tasty breakfast. Don't expect a wide selection of entrees. Just focus on taste. One of the best I've tried.
BAD THINGS:
1. The hotel website LIED when they said that the guest rooms are separated from the lobby by a door that can only be accessed using an electronic keycard. In my more than 10 days of stay in the hotel, all I did was push the door.
2. The guest rooms can also be accessed thru the parking area. Based on waht I have observed, the exit of the [parking area is unguarded and dark at night. My friends and I actually entered thru the exit one night. If there's an ambush, anyone can just enter the dark exit without being noticed by hotel security.
3. You can only request for room clean up between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM. If you are following the Eastern Standard Time, you either have to fight or beg for your room to be cleaned outside their schedule.
4. I tried to access the internet one morning and cannot connect. I called up the frontdesk and I was told that "It's down, Sir, because we have high occupancy."
5. The terrace of the deluxe room that was given to me is accessible thru the window of the next guestroom. I vented out to a hotel staff about this and good thing they felt what I was feeling at that time.
6. The acoustics is BAD. Wear earplugs during you scheduled bedtime as you can hear the doors of the other guestroom, near or far, being closed.
7. My room does not have a chain lock on the door.
8. The television has limited programming.
9. The toilet in my room didn't flush well thus I had to ask for a pail and dipper from housekeeping.
10. You wouldn't not want to take a dip in the pool as the water is dirty despite the maintenance guy's daily effort to take away the fallen leaves from the trees.
But despite all these bad things about the hotel, its PEOPLE ARE REALLY NICE.
I definitely might go back to that hotel since there's not much of a choice in the area. The Paseo Premiere Hotel is so near the commercial center that the noise of the bands can perforate your eardrums.
I arrived in November 2010 for a series of business meetings. As always in the Philippines, security is paramount so the hotel is protected by a massive fence and armed guards; don’t be put-off by the guns, it’s just life in the Philippines.
The facility appears to be of fairly new construction. The lobby area is clean and modern, and are followed by an open-layout dining area which is primarily used for breakfast and as a low-key lounge in the evening. Outside of the lobby is a nicely sized swimming pool with handsome landscaping. The patio surrounding the pool features comfortable tables and chairs – perfect for a little breakfast al fresco or a drink after dinner – plus it’s covered by wifi. At this point, I was pretty pleased.
It was only when I headed to my room that I realized that disappointment was to be the name of the game.
The hotel consists of two 3-story buildings linked to the main lobby. The rooms are small and, at least in my building, not served by elevators – so grab a bellhop and have him carry your bags up the stairs to your room.
The rooms are Spartan, to say the least. I tested two rooms, and they were clean and the bed was fine, but the low-cost furniture made them a dreary place to sit or work. In both rooms, the air conditioner was mounted on the wall at the foot of the bed and blew a chilly breeze directly onto the bed. The interior lighting is poor. There were no carpets. The bathrooms are the size of closets. I had no hot water for showering on the second day, and my traveling colleague reported the same in his room. The TV is low-def with terrible reception; it’s basically unwatchable, and I could not find any international news (CNN, Sky, anything) so there was nothing to watch anyway. To top it off, my first room was so small it did not even have a window, so it was like being in a concrete jail cell.
Now, I’m a constant traveler and not very fussy, but I don’t think it’s too much to ask that there at least be hot water and a window.
Special note: I have heard from two other travelers about the Technopark hotel, and one reported a very bad bed bug situation, and the other said he found the largest spider he has ever seen in his room. I did not experience either of these conditions but, after spending three nights there I can see how it might happen. Caveat emptor.
Meanwhile, back down in the public areas of the hotel, it’s a different and much better world. The staff at the Technopark is simply terrific. They are unfailingly polite, helpful and smiling. I was warmly greeted every time I walked into the lobby. I needed some photocopies made, and they ran them off on the hotel’s office copier. I sat on the patio and worked on my computer, and they stopped by every ten minutes to see if I needed anything. The breakfast ladies were painfully friendly, and cooked a very nice breakfast. (The breakfast buffet, by the way, varies daily, which is a pleasant change from so many hotels which set up the same monotonous breakfast every day.)
So understand the deal here: the price is a bit on the high side, especially considering the prison-style rooms. But the public areas are lovely and the staff is top-notch, especially in light of what they have to work with. All in all, I don’t think I’ll be back. But I’ll miss all those breakfast smiles.
Booked online, 2-Deluxe Rooms for 3-nights (both rooms with separate beds) . Upon check-in first night was told both Deluxe rooms booked, no separate beds available, only single Queen-size beds for both booked rooms.
We requested at least one of the room be given to us with separate beds because its not proper to sleep together with our Foreigner Guest on the same bed.
Reception says we should have made request online or by phone before checkin if wants single/or separate beds. But after checking online booking, this hotel has room booking with description of each room single or double beds , but using same photo of a 2-separate beds. "MISLEADING".
Next morning requested update, still no available room with separate beds. Foreigner Guest requested an extra folding bed, reception insist we need to pay extra Php800.00 for extra bed which we did not accept.
Late afternoon deciding to checkout a day earlier, reception finally decided to give extra folding bed free of charge which we did not accept. Since we already booked another different hotel.
Caution to corporate bookings, especially single night occupancy. Whether you book online or make other reservations, you are required to call this hotel and make reservations of your bed arrangements before you check-in. Or else you will end up sleeping with a companion with AWKWARD feeling throughout the night/s.
Throughout the ordeal, hotel manager never even tried to introduce oneself to guests and explain personally,
"always get the queen sized-bed.. awesome big-assed TV, cable channels are out of this world and air-conditioning is superb."Read full review
"best to get in touch with the hotel directly and check on your reservation, amenities, etc. I am glad I did call."Read full review
"If you want a quiet room, stay away near the pool and dining area..OUr room upstairs have bigger TV screen too than that in ground floor."Read full review
