Although we live within an hour's drive from the hotel, because of the snowy weather we decided to spend our anniversary at The Boar's Head. We couldn't have made a better choice. On arrival we were given an upgrade - though we know from past experience that all the rooms are comfortable and individual. All the staff were friendly, helpful... More

I needed to stay overnight in the Harrogate area for work and booked a last minute deal at the Boars head (A short drive from Harrogate but avoid the school run times). All I can say is that I'm so glad I did. The staff are very friendly, John the waiter and the receptionist were a pleasure to chat with... More

I've always thought that people who post reviews on Tripadvisor are, well, a little bit sad, so what does this now make me? I was so impressed with my stay I've decided to break the habit of a lifetime. Not so much a hotel, and definitely not a pub. More of a country house with guests, in a very good... More

We are a mature couple on a short break, and picked the Boar's Head from a number of offers at this time of year. Wonderful village and a fabulous location for visiting Ripley Castle and walking round the deer park and grounds, for as far or as short a promenade as needed. Bitterly, cold we took the short version, then... More

We booked for just one night for a family occasion in Harrogate. We received a warm welcome which we were most grateful for as it was dark, cold and misty as we arrived after a long journey. The "Navy" and "Moreton" rooms were well presented and as comfortable as any we've stayed in. We had pre-booked a table in the... More

My wife and i stayed here for one night just before the New Year. having driven from Scotland in filthy weather we were ready to be cossetted and revived. My wife was not well and needed rest badly. Upon checking in, the manager could not initially find my reservation. Eventually, we discovered that I had accidently booked for the previous... More

I remenber it well. Firstly ,slight panic when I couldn't find your booking then a sense of relief when we could find you an suitable alternative, then upon a second check of confirmation details, the slightly funny side of things emerged......you had indeed turned up 24 hrs late. It was plainly obvious to us that all you needed was to check... More

Stayed for 1 night only, last minute booking via bookings.com as we were meeting relatives in Harrogate. What a fantastic find. Room was very well furnished, very comfortable bed, well equipped bathroom, all exceptionally clean. Had requested a quiet room, we were put in the "Navy room", which though quiet and overlooking the rear garden area was next to the... More

I am delighted to read that your stay was almost faultless. However,it could have so easily been completeley faultless as we should have ,as standard, offered you the choice to eat in either area.We are normally very good at making sure that our guests get to eat in their prefered area,so I apologise that you were not offered that chance.
