We stayed for 1 night in January only place we could find at short notice. Chose to stay again this weekend to access the canal for cycling. Lovely setting, room this time in the lodge was so hot, unbearable but breakfast very good as last time. However, manners of the staff were as bad as last time. Had an eastern... More

We ignored previous comments advising you NOT to stay in the Lodge, it is one of the few places in Bath that will do one night stays, and so took it, and a room in The Lodge. The room was only average but what rounded it off was the shower in the worlds smallest shower room would not stop, we... More

the above rating of average is slightly misleading it was good but not very good the room was fine and the facilities ok the restrauent is an Italian menu and i had not noticed before booking ....not a big problem unless you dont like some of the dishes leaving a limited choice the food we ordered was OK but priced... Having booked this place last minute, we didn't do much research. As much as the location is beautiful, and the hotel looks nice from the outside that's about the only good thing I can say about the hotel. We weren't made to feel welcome upon our arrival at all, and had to submit a card for 'pre-authorisation' which we weren't... More

The hotel is in a beautiful location right next to a lovely river but the hotel itself is actually quite old and dated. Nothing particularly wrong with being dated and the attempt at making the room ‘superior’ was ok but just not quite right. I paid an additional premium for a superior room but it really wasn’t superior. It just... More

Location was fine and the room not bad although the shower was really awkward and kept going hot/cold. The real problem was the manager, he was extremely rude and threatened our group in front of many other guests in the breakfast room. Extremely unprofessional. He was also coughing repeatedly into his hands, and then straight away handling food for guests!... More

I stayed here with a group of friends and thought the hotel location was great, but the hotel itself was absolutely revolting. The rooms were tiny and very tatty. We also had a pair of dirty mens underpants on the ledge outside our room. Our shower broke and my bedside table lamp was burnt all the way round the top.... More

Following on from the comment of " a poor excuse for a hotel", further to the manager's comments, I can confirm that yes we were on a girls weekend away (which I believe is allowed in this day and age). We did perhaps appear noisy when arriving back at the hotel, however, the walls are very, very thin, I could... More

We stayed in a room in the Lodge that measured 12feet by 9feet about the size of a camper van.The basics are all ok-it was clean, the bed was comfortable, breakfast ok,reasonably quiet and the location by the river pleasant but the overall experiece was generally unsatisfactory. All rooms in Bath are relatively expensive but at its list price this would be poor... A group of girl friends stayed here for a weekend, we found all staff especially the Manager of the hotel very, very rude. The rooms were very basic, our room (111) had a bathroom that had obviously been decorated, but was half finished. My friend was put into a portacabin (otherwise known as the Old Mill lodge) as part of... More

It seems strange that one guest compliments room 111 and yet this review and guest does the opposite. I am sorry if they thought I was rude but this group of girls were on a hen night and went out clubbing on their first night at the hotel, when they returned to the hotel in the early hours they made...
