Originally we had planned on staying at the Admiral hotel in Bergen for 2 nights. The Admiral is an average hotel and decided to move to a different hotel. The staff in the lobby at the Admiral recommended the Solstrand Hotel. What a GREAT recommendation. We paid 2100 NOK per night for 2 adulst in a Junior suite with half... more

Dear Sir, we appreciate your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you especially enjoyed our spa and wellness area. Our head chef was happy to hear that you enjoyed our food, as he takes great pride in preparing homemade food based on local products from the fjord region. Kind regards Pernille Schau-Larsen

Our family of four stayed here two nights in July. We had a junior suite because it could comfortably accommodate four. It had a bunk bed and a double bed in the back of the room and a comfortable sitting area in the front of the room overlooking the fjord. The furnishings were very attractive and well made. The view... more

Dear Sir or Madam, we are glad to hear that you enjoyed our spa and wellness area. We are continuously developing our facilities and the latest feature is a heated outdoor pool overlooking the fjord. For the summer of 2010 we are building a new quay with a bridge into the fjord, which shall make it easier for our guests...

Like most places, there are good and bad things about this hotel. We visited the hotel as part of a small tour group with Comos Tours. The Good This is an historic hotel in a fantastic location looking out directly over landscaped gardens to the fjords. The views are fantastic and it is a real treat to sit on the... more

As I live in western Norway I've stayed at this hotel several times, both in connection with business and privately (weekend getaway) both summer and winter. It sits on a beatiful location with fjord and mountain views, and has rather large grounds/park towards the sea. Almost all rooms have view, but ask for one when reserving, it's even worth an... more

Stayed here for two nights as part of a ford tour at the end of April '08. the hotel is beautiful and is set on the side of a beautiful fjord. The food was good, so was the wine and service. Too bad they had not properly finished redecorating our room and that they were still working on the pool... more

It would be hard to find a more spectacular location than that which the Solstrand enjoys. The hotel literally sits atop the Bjornfiord in Western Norway. Our room, which was a deluxe corner room, had breathtaking views from two different sets of French doors and small balconies. That, in and of itself, made the trip worthwhile. The hotel itself has... more

Dear Madam or Sir, We really appreciate your feedback. We are truly sorry that our staff didn’t take your request about the drain in the bathroom seriously. Our staff is trained to listen and take guest requests very seriously and then take actions that are needed. As you said, our glass shields in the shower are common in Europe, but...

Just back from a visit to Bergen and a short stay at the excellent Hotel Solstrand. We thought it was one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. We were greeted warmly and although we realised that we were in the more modern block of the hotel the view over the fjord more than made up for it.... more

Solstrand is a nice hotel located on a fjord about 40 minutes south of Bergen. You can reach it from Bergen by public bus, which leaves every 20 minutes on weekdays and every hour on Sundays. It is obviously for rather wealthy people, as it is very expensive. Nonetheless, I got one of the 12 junior suites, which consisted of... more

Am glad that I ended my holiday with a couple of days at the Solstrand hotel. Beautiful scenery of the fjord, in a nice peaceful relaxing environment. You can take it easy or be energetic by using the spa facilities. Clean, comfortable rooms majority over looking the fjord. I would advise anyone thinking of visiting Os in Norway to have... more

Our stay at Solstrand Hotel was a very positive experience. We slept in a deluxe room on the 4th floor which had a king sized bed and a bunk bed - both of which were comfortable. Our balcony was large enough for 3 chairs and had a fabulous view of the local fjord. The bathroom had a tub and seperate... more
