Rockview rooms are so comfortable and well-appointed that they feel more like a thoughtfully cozy, lovingly operated motel than an eco-lodge in the interior of Guyana. The showers even have a gizmo on them that can slightly heat the water – be sure to ask how to operate them. In fact, we had to ask about everything – meals, electricity,... More

The Rock View Lodge is an established establishment. The air strip for Annai is located right out front and the Lodge itself is a multi-tasking location with it's own cashew tree acreage, green garden, on site fruit trees including Mango, Passion Fruit and a few I could not name. Seasoned guides can take you professional birders to view the amazing... More

The food is great, especially the homemade jam, rooms clean, local staff and guides lovely but after staying at the other lodges (Rewa/Surama/Karanambu/Caiman House/Atta etc) this was by far the worst place for us. Fine if you want to stop and get cleaned up and get your washing done but there is nothing to do here, we soon realised they... More

Rock View Lodge is an oasis in the north Rupununi savannas. We retain special memories of the gracious hospitality shown to us by Colin & his family, all the friendly staff and Leon our guide. Colin's achievement to create this oasis and his commitment to bettering the lives of his neighbours is outstanding. The lodge and gardens have been carefully... More

It was really great to stay at Rock View Lodge. Colin Edwards and his staff made us feel very welcome. Leon took us to some great birding sites where we saw over 35 new species in one day. He is a great birder and even helped us to identify some of our photos once we had returned home. He took... More

A wonderful place to stay a few nights, one of the nicest facilities we were at in Guyana. The rooms are superb, the grounds lovely, a swimming pool, library, horseback riding, and other facilities. Leon, our nature guide when we stayed, was great. Colin (the proprietor) must have a very green thumb, there are plants/flowers everywhere. Very good food too.... More

A welcome respite after two of the most appalling lodges we've ever had the misfortune of staying in. Colin was a great host and Josephine very kindly supplied me with some cream for the dreadful bites I'd incurred at the falls. Having hot showers again was glorious and very much appreciated. The food was lovely. It was such a relief... More

My wife and I were at the Rock View Lodge for 6 days in March 2010. It was our first time in Guyana and we were mostly wanting to see the birds. There were two excellent guides, Hendrix and Leon, and many possibilities for birding that were fairly close. We also went on a day trip to the Atta Forest... More

We were picked up at Annai airstrip, treated to a delicious lunch at Rockview and driven by Georgie to Iwokrama for a 2 day stay. We stayed at Atta Lodge as well and were picked up by Georgie again on our way back to Rockview where we stayed for 3 days. One of the guides who I highly recommend, Hendrix,... More

Rockview was a wonderful experience for our group of 8. This is a getaway like no other. The Amerindian community of Annai in the Savannah of North Rupanuni is an eye opener that takes you back to a simpler time with people just lived off of their land. The native people do not have much in way of material things,... More
