We visited with friends, spending 2 days in the area wildlife watching, which was superb. We had a late and large lunch in the bar, so to give ourselves plenty of scope for the rest of the day, the food was excellent as ever (we've dined before!) and very good value. This time though, the plan was to stay overnight... More

This hotel made a great base for our (very successful) attempt to watch beavers in Knapdale. The hotel has a great restaurant and ( having been Pre- warned) coped magnificently with the unusual culinary requirements of our group. Fantastic food, great atmosphere, friendly staff enhanced a special visit to this wonderful area.

We've just returned from a much-needed 2-night break in the Cairnbaan Hotel, having stayed there several times in the past, and it remains our favourite hotel in Scotland for a short break. We know that at Cairnbaan we'll enjoy lovely food, a warm welcome, and will be well looked after. The room we had for this visit had been tastefully... More

We were having a day out and had walked several miles along the canal path planning on having a meal at the hotel before our walk back to Ardrishaig. On arrival at the hotel we asked if we. Could have a meal, the waitress looked at her watch said she would have to ask the kitchen and disappeared. It. Was... More

We stayed 2 nights from Thursday 'til Saturday. We know the area very well as my husband was local to the area. We have know the hotel for over 20 years and based on this knowledge were quite happy to book. We were extremely disappointed with the level of cleanliness especially in the main reception rooms. "Tired" is not a... More

Nice clean comfortable rooms, very helpful friendly staff, delicious food, really beautiful location. We stayed overnight on our way to a day's skiing, had a walk and a great dinner, followed by several whiskies. highly recommended.

It's a cracking little hotel with a dozen or so rooms bang on the Crinan Canal. I went with some friends as we spotted it was in a spectacular part of the world and looked good value for money. The rooms were nicely decorated and clean and the beds were comfy. We wanted to get out early and the staff... More

Having dined in the Cairnbaan Hotel restaurant in April last year and found it an excellent experience with a excellent meal and lovely ambiance, we dicided to have a couple of nights stay and took up their Dinner, Bed and Breakfast deal. We were very disappointed for several reasons. Our room was on the ground floor with the car park... More

We have had a wonderful meal in the bar at the hotel, the menu was interesting and different from the usual suspects, with a real emphasis on local fish dishes. The meals were excellent value and of restaurant quality. The only slight downfall for us, was that the hotel is not dog friendly, I know this might not suit everyone, but... More
