We last visited this 'Quinta' in Madeira nine years ago. Because we enjoyed it so much we decided to go back for a weeks holiday to celebrate my 70th birthday.
The hotel was just as good as we remembered and has had a reburbishment a year or two ago.

The hotel staff were extremely welcoming, we stayed in the 'junior suite' which was very comfortable indeed (although the bed was perhaps a little hard for our old bones!).
The service was impeccable, very professional and we had the warmest of welcomes.
The breakfast was a true feast!
A splendid location for anybody wanting to avoid the crowds in Funchal....

The hotel with its charming separate restaurant and amenities, all round warm hospitality, first class management and excellent staff all do everything to make a stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The views from the hotel and restaurant are tremendous; levada walking and the Pico...

We had seven amazing days at Quinta Do Furao: It's a charming, not too big hotel with a wonderful ocean view, very polite staff, good breakfast and nice rooms. All in all: Try it, you'll be surprised!

Brilliant hotel location with cliff top views. Santana (a nice little town 4km away and comparatively unspoilt by tourism) is on NE of island and we sensed it gets more cloud and showers than Funchal, but you are near to some good walking opportunities, the point at Sao Jorge, levadas at Portela & Queimadas, Teixeira summit
A car is essential...
