Having never written a review on tripadvisor before I felt compelled to do so about our recent stay at the Ambala. My boyfriend and I stayed there from Jan 16 until Jan 26 and it was absolutely faultless. The hosts, Esa and Nancy, went out of their way to make us feel welcome, including Esa picking us up from the... more

Our recent trip to Rarotonga was even better because of our superb hosts at Ambala Gardens. Nancy and Esa acted as our personal tour guides touring us around the island, while giving us a history lesson,They recommended good restaurants on the island and made the reservations for us. Each morning we were treated to a marvelous breakfast made with local ingredients.... more

We were met at airport very early in the morning by Esa himself in the pouring rain. On arrival at Ambala Garden Lodge we were also welcomed by Nancy and after freshening up sat down to a most welcome breakfast of fresh fruit and coconut cream - deliciious, even though we thought we may not be "checking in" until later... more

My husband and I stayed with Esa and Nancy for 7 nights in their self catering apartment. The Frangipani apartment was light and airy and spacious with its own deck which is perfect for outdoor eating. It is surrounded by lush vegetation and the swimming pool is fantastic especially after a long walk. It is only about a 10 minute... more

These are the best B&B hosts ever! Our gracious hosts Esa and Nancy made the visit a very memorable one. They have a very secluded property surrounded by lush tropical vegetation with a beautiful pool. Our room was very spacious and had great access to enjoying the outdoor patio and pool. We had GREAT food for breakfast and the suite... more

In October my three kids, 10,7,4, and I stayed at beautiful Ambala Garden Lodge. We were the only guests so the kids had the run of the stunning garden pool and we had the pleasure of Nancy and Esa's company all to ourselves, and by the end of the week it was like staying with family. They went out of... more

I just returned from Raro and stayed at Ambala for two weeks. The property is lovely and very private, a special feature is the lovely pool area. I stayed in one of the self-contained rooms and found it clean and tidy with everything you need to cook dinner at night or watch a movie. What makes this place great are... more

We looked and looked for accommodation on Raro and after reading reviews for Ambala Garden Lodge we decided to book there. And we are sure glad we did. It is without the best B&B we have stayed in, and I dare say probably the best ever. The breakfasts were outstanding and the hospitality of Nancy and Esa went way beyond... more

The owners were away and I'm not sure if this was why things were not great, but the place was lacking care and attention to detail - the kitchen cupboards smelt so bad we had to wash each thing we wanted to use with boiling water first. Also if the family with small & noisy children upstairs had showers then... more

This was our second visit to the Cook Islands (last time 5 years ago). This visit was even better than expected. We chose Ambala Gardens from reading the great reviews it received. They were accurate on their rating. What a great experience! What phenomenal people Nancy and Esa are! We were treated like family almost immediately, comfortable there from the... more
