The castle would be very interesting if they would have provided some historical information. The food was okay but there was a strange singing duo - tip them quickly so they move on. We stayed in mid March 2012 and had a very atmospheric suite in the old part of the palace with casement windows on three sides, arches between the lounge area and bedroom and a beautiful old door. Poor welcome and hostile reception staff. Room appalling standard despite this being one of best rooms. Couldn't wait to leave. Was like a prison. Really expensive and you can get so much more for your money. These services and standards need to move into the real world. Terrible one of the worst places I have stayed in India. More

Castle Mandawa has a special feel to it, the big inner courtyard gives you the feeling arriving in an historical place. Public areas are very nice and the staff is really friendly.
