The hotel is unique in its concept and location. Atop a beautiful hill. The food is excellent and the hosts are warm and caring. The tends and rooms are impeccably maintained and the views are splendid. Lot of sightseeing and adventure to do. A great destination hotel. More

What a lovely place to stay ! The host and hostess are charming , the food is fabulous , the tents and rooms very comfortable and the surrounding countryside is beautiful . Ramathra was definitely one of my favourite spots during our tour in India . Yes , it is a little off the beaten path but well worth the... More

We were picked up from the local railway station by a taxi booked by the Fort and the driver certainly took the rocky road. (Our own driver collected us at the end of the stay and found a road that was like a motorway by comparison). On arrival I joked that, with an approach road like the one we had... More

Perfect getaway place. The hosts were present as well and very gracious. They talked to us about the history of the place and their family heritage, which the fort. We spent our morning running along the nearby dam as well as around the lake. In the evening we would visit the lake, the nearby village or stay in the fort... More

During a recent trip to India, my husband and I had the good fortune to be booked at Fort Ramathra. Sita Travel was handling our land arrangements and when I saw Fort Ramathra on the itinerary, I asked "why." The reply was that we would need a break from big, congested cities. Thank goodness we agreed to its inclusion as... More

We have just returned from the Ramathra Fort which was stunning - they have only 6 tents and 6 rooms and 15 staff, all trained from the village and no one brought in from the city. The food is all organic grown on their own farm and even the fish is from the lake nearby. For as far as the... More

They say the best things in life are the most difficult to get and getting to Ramathra Fort is a taxing journey with an amazing reward at the end of the line. We started out for Ramathra Fort from Agra. At the rest stop on the highway between Agra and Jaipur, our driver told us we still had another three... More

We recently spent two nights at Ramathra during a two week long, family friendly and family focused trip through Rajastan. We visited Ramathra fairly early in the trip but realized as soon as we arrived that it was a very special place. One realizes just how remote and removed Ramathra is from the hustle and bustle of Indian urban areas... More

The location of this fort is wonderful and, from our elevated balcony, we could see and hear life on the plain far below; it seemed a timeless vista and (as other reviewers have said) magical. The area is beautiful and there is a large lake with some exciting birdlife - including ospreys. We had one of the two suites, which... More

We are sorry to know that this reviewer's expectations fell short. He does not mention that when they arrived at Ramathra, his partner/spouse was unwell. Given the circumstances, we got the feeling they preferred to be left alone. Hence, we didn't think they wanted the company, or we would have gladly invited them to join us. The lack of an... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at Ramathra Fort back in February (I know, a bit slow with the review). The place is a trick to get to, but once you're there, it's a magical oasis in the countryside of Rajasthan. It is totally worth every effort to get there. The hospitality was great, the activities that are included are totally... More
