I was searching for the review and came to know some people wrote the worst thing about this property.I am a regular tourist of Indian and always prefer Surajgarh fort for its excellent hospitality and heritage feel i think this is the best property in whole Shekhawati Reagion. I have visited almost all the hotels in shekhawati for my trips... More

Yes, India is a dirty country (by Western standards) but that doesn't excuse dirty hotels. This one hides under a "heritage" label, which it clearly uses to justify poor cleanliness, doors that don't close, windows with large gaps and a "rustic" kitchen. Rooms are large and spacious, but I prefer clean to size. My second room (the first was just... More

This hotel is a gem. I stayed in five hotels during my Indian adventure and this quirky hotel, with incredibly interesting rooms and suites provided a lasting impression of 18th century opulance in India. I stayed with 10 other people at this place as part of a tour with 'On the Go' and we were the only people there. We... More

When I stayed at this hotel it was vitually empty (apart from people using the pool). There is not much to do around here, but the hotel is nice place to stay and relax and use the pool - unfortunately the pool was too crowded to use when I arrived - it had been overtaken by some very noisy teenagers,... In early March with only minor room changes the group we were with settled in quickly. Built as the original owners accumulated wealth over the years, no room is the same and its well worth a tour to see all the possibilites. The food is good and we used the pool. Surajgarh itself is very walkable and interesting.

The first thing that stroke me when I opened the door to my room was the smell of Naphthalene. They put small balls of Naphthalene in the sink in order to keep the mosquitos away. I do understand the utility, but on practical level the smell is unbearable; even though I kept my clothes in the suitcase, they smelled of... More

Surajgarh Fort is a ok type option which isn't too far from Delhi. I travelled with my family with small kids for 2 nights in early January. Route : The best route from Delhi is Gurgaon - Rewari - Narnaul - Singhana - Chirawa - Surajgarh. The roads in Haryana are patchy however once you cross Narnaul and enter Rajasthan,... More

I planned this trip for my wife on one of the weekends to get away from monotonous daily routine. Surjagarh fort is more of a Haveli situated amidst this small town/village Surajgarh. 190 Odd Km's from Delhi and 4-5 hours drive depending on your driving and manuovering skills on Haryana roads. There are 3 routes but I choose the one... More

I am writing this review almost after a year of my visit. Awesome place to visit if you want a luxury weekend trip! I would suggest drive from Gurgaon to Jhunjhunu. It is almost a 4 hrs drive, and gives you a neat connectivity. However, you require proper route maps. Roads, yes not so great! Food, can be a challenge..... More
