The Ship Inn is advertised as the only dedicated burger and grill restaurant in the area and it certainly lives up to this with large portions of freshly cooked food for a very reasonable price! On top of this the pub staff were friendly and helpful in every way throughout the meal. The RAT (Rosemary and Thyme) burger, which is... More

I was lucky enough to win a competition with "Explore Gloucestershire" giving us a nights accommodation and evening meal at The Ship Inn. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was of exceptional standard. We ordered steak and it was... More

Great one night stay on business. Room was lovely and very welcoming. After a business meeting a very restful pub bar with great food , felt very comfortable there. Good breakfast too. A lovely area - would come again to thihs pub for a short break in a beautiful area. , Jan SM More

Went to the ship few weeks ago,for evening meal and it was brilliant but the Mother day lunch, was average.Very small portions and for a Sunday lunch, very uninteresting. The meat was very nice, good flavour but only two very small portions of veg and only roast potatoes [no boiled, which made the lunch, very sparse].I think, with the emphasis,on our 5 a day, there should have been... We had lunch there with a group - made to feel welcome, plus had a really good meal into the bargain. I'd be happy to go there again if ever I return to Newnham. More

What a great way to end our Christmas holiday!! We arrived on a cold dark winter evening and opened the door to be greeted by a roaring fire and a really cheery welcome. To help choose the best bitter, tasters were offered (Bob was best!) and the food was to die for!! The resturant was beautifully presented and the service... More

My family visited the Ship Inn for a set Christmas meal, we preordered from a good selection of food, but were more than surprised with the meal we got. I expected standard pub grub, but instead we got fantastic home made food. The inn was clean, warm and very inviting. The table was dressed elegantly, with a wonderful view of... More

Disappointed as £90 per night price tag and snazzy website suggested this was going to be a good quality b&b but our stay was decidedly average. Room- average and mostly pretty clean. Officious notice in en suite regarding penalties for" misuse of the bathroom" . Shower had loads of mould around the sealant. Little bottles of toiletries were already half... More

We stayed at the Ship Inn for two nights as we were doing a breadmaking course locally. The accommodation is of a high standard and clean and comfortable throughout. Breakfast is cooked to order and is excellent (top marks for good bacon and black pudding). Food in the restaurant is of an extremely high standard (this from someone who lives... More
