We were looking for accomodation for the night of my son's wedding in Appletreewick. Knowles Lodge was one of our options and we were tempted by the location and the photos available on the internet. The Location really lived up to our expectations. The rooms were decorated beautifully and everything was of a high standard. It is just a pity... More

We had a 1 night stay at Knowles Lodge on 8th September whilst attending a family wedding. We received a warm welcome from Chris, who came to greet us from our car, and brought us tea to drink on the verandah. Our room was clean, spacious and had everything we might have needed for our short stay. We were a... More

My partner and I stayed 9th June 2012 for 1 night as part of our Dales Way walking holiday. The accommodation was immaculate and the breakfast 1st class. Room for improvement: a TV in the room (although I suspect Chris likes to chat away with the guests in the lounge), biscuits in date, and the cold tap not running warm.

Attended our friends wedding at the weekend and had a very pleasant stay at Knowles Lodge. Stunning setting and amazing views from our bedroom window. The hosts were eccentric in a good way and very welcoming and great to talk to. Breakfast was great and just wish we could have stayed longer.

We have just had the pleasure of stopping in one of the nicest B&B's I have ever stayed in, the place its is beautiful, wonderful gardens and views to die for. The owners Chris and Pam are first class, very welcoming and a pleasure to talk to, the breakfast was amazing, freshly squeezed orange juice, home made hot fruit compote... More

Great points: 1. Attractive large wooden chalet type building with lovely outside terrace to sit and look over the garden and distant views 2. Chris is a very entertaining host - a true raconteur 3. Breakfast is absolutely superb - only the very best ingredients were used. The house speciality hot fruit compote was fantastic and the sausages (which are... More

I stayed at Knowles Lodge recently with my husband whilst attending a wedding nearby. We stay in B&Bs around the country on a very regular basis, as we exhibit in trade shows around 4 to 5 times a year. i just wish we could move Knowles Lodge near to our business locations as we found our stay to be first... In our well travelled opinion this is most probably THE best standard of bed and Breakfast it is possible to achieve - without it becoming a 5 Star boutique hotel - in Britain today. Welcoming host, fresh flowers, total openess to share the beautiful airy family lounge which is flooded with natural daylight and has jaw dropping views across the... More

Make sure you have adequate travel insurance before you go to this B&B. We had arranged to go to Knowles Lodge for 3 nights in July but unfortunately had to cancel a week in advance because our little dog had become very poorly. The owner, Chris Knowles-Fitton got quite agitated and demanded compensation for his missed opportunity to grab £270... More

It always saddens us to receive negative reviews about Knowles Lodge. Thousands who have stayed with us know what a special and unique place it is and that we always go out of our way to ensure that everyone’s stay is as relaxed and enjoyable as possible. Those who have stayed with us are hugely complimentary and we’re always delighted,... More
