Staying at Silk Route at Nubra Valley was really a good decision I have taken. The location is beautiful with basic amenities. Best part was the fresh food we had there... the staff has picked up the vegetables from there kitchen garden in front of us. The food was homely and delicious. Our room (101) was pretty comfortable and after... More

The cottages are located in Sumur village and are laid out beautifully. There is a lovely garden laid out, vegetable garden out in the back and the rooms are basic bamboo cottages. The cottages are small and cozy. The bathrooms are very very basic. There are some restrictive timings on the electricity and hot water supply. But given the location... More

It’s a long but lovely drive along the Nubra river to this hideaway under the shadow of a glaciated mountain. Although the travel agent told him twice the name of the facility before we left Leh, my driver -- who couldn’t understand more than a few words in English -- took the better part of the afternoon finding the place.... Opposite to some of the reviews posted here, our stay at Silk Route was very pleasant. The bamboo houses, though small were nice and cozy in the relatively cool surrounding. The property is located pretty much in the middle of Sumur village so we did take a pleasant walk into the village as well. The staff was largely helpful with... More

The Silk route cottages are someone looking for solitude with very few or no basic amenities. Hot water only from 6am to 7am is inhuman in a place like Nubra where the cold chills your bones, electricity between 7:30pm to about 11:30pm and then you are lost in darkness for the rest of the night! We had the cottages but... More

We arrived knowing that this was a camp ground, and would be a bit rustic. However, we were deeply disapointed in all aspects. The food was horrible, cold, and just not inviting. The "beds" were not comfortable, it would have been better to sleep on the floor in a sleeping bag, than on the wood board and paper thin "mattress".... More

It is a nice place, but very small. Service also are not that great. In breakfast, they serve only toast butter & choice of eggs. However, it is a good place to get get lost from busy city life, as there is no TV, Network etc. More

The ambience of the place is really good, its serene but the service is not upto the mark. The staff was not prompt to recieve as they said the intimation from Travel Agent was missing. We were wanting to have a Bon-fire as was part of the package but the managerrefused to offer the same as he said he had... More

After the serene Diskit Monastery and one of the greatest phenomena of a desert @ 15000 feet @ Hunder, when you want to crash, you think of cozy camps or nice cottages which give you the required amount of comfort to allow you to sleep in peace. Very beautifully placed in the valley, the cottages are genuinely warm. The service... More
