I can't believe it has taken me so long to write this review, and for that I apologise! I first stayed here as part of my Kiwi Experience trip in '99 when I was a young adventurous traveller. I adored it from the minute we arrived as it was off the beaten track & I got the chance to go horse riding (my favourite). The style of the accommmodation we were in couldn't have been better - I have talked to people about it for years! It was like a wooden cabin with a continuous row of mattresses along the bottom row and above (imagine a bunk) the same again. We'd all made such good friends that to sleep in a row, with no dividers, seemed perfectly natural. This was in fact the highlight & great fun!

Nearly 9 years on my passion for NZ hadn't gone away so I booked another stay & this time took my elder sister with me. We chose to stay in the 'grown' ups accommodation, which was lovely, just away frm the main lodge - I think we had a double and a single bed in the room... more
