Disappointing doesn't even come close!!!, booked one night in the head lighthouse keepers cottage for our final night down Great Ocean road, Looked a lovely unique place to stay and somewhere we look forward to staying at. Then what we found was a disaster, property was very old and run down and in desperate need of TLC. Cracked walls, musty... More

Booked two nights.Arrived as requested after 3 to find room as previous guests had left it,including breakfast trays. Not pleasant. When ready,it still wasn`t welcoming.Lit through small French doors, one partially covered by a blind which wouldn`t go up,looking out onto a small, gloomy, fenced and walled in area containing rusty table and chairs.Kitchen and bathroom have no natural light. The fixtures and fittings where... Wow, where to start--it's a GREAT location and the room was OK; however, I felt like I spent most of my time searching for someone to give us basics! Their website promises 'Complimentary tea & coffee is provided' but there was NOTHING in our room--not any sugar, milk, tea, coffee, cups, glasses or cutlery. In addition, the site says 'Also... The wind rattled the windows all night during our stay but we actually enjoyed the atmosphere created by the squally weather. Inside the Head Light Keepers main section we were very cosy with two wood fires (and some electric ones to supplement). The accomodation had everything we needed but don't expect new and modern as you are staying in an... More

This really is out on the edge of the earth! I advise ensuring you arrive before sunset on your first night. The cottage was large, very clean and comfortable, with a great bathroom. We were surprised by some homemade biscuits, a pint of milk and a vase of flowers in the kitchen for when we arrived- and someone had stoked... More

We stayed at the Head Lighthouse keepers B and B. It was clean but a bit old. Tiny heater in kids room did nothing to heat the room. Luckily we found extra blankets for them. Very quiet. Nice to be at the lighthouse in evening and in am for sunrise. Great drive in, lots of koalas everywhere. Worth a quick... More

There are 2 buildings on the property and we stayed at the Managers Cottage. We stayed over the New Year Break for a week and there were 4 adults and 7 kids ranging from 14 to 7. The house had 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Plenty of room for everyone! It was clean and modern. However the house lacks a... More

This was something truly different. You can experience the nineteenth century atmosphere whilst enjoying twenty first century amenities - apart that is from unwanted ones like mobile phones and tv! Surrounded by history both Victorian and Aboriginal we could easily have spent many more nights here. It was breathtakingly magical to see the sun disappear below the horizon. What a... More

We stayed here solely for the purpose of being at the lighthouse for sunrise and sunset. I cannot think of any other reason to stay here. The price is high but breakfast included was fine. The king size bed is made up of 2 mattresses. Zone of them was oak but the other one w about 8" lower and slanted... More

Was given a quote on 3 days in the managers house and on booking told that because we would be coming in on a public holiday i would be charged an additional $250 for cleaning! Not cleaning after our use, that's in the room rate, but to clean it BEFORE we come. Unbelievable! Didn't go ahead.
