Brian and Shirley have certainly perfected the B&B; from the initial greeting until the time we left it was a pleasure to stay in their home. The breakfast was first rate with eggs collected just before cooking and homemade plum jam, it could not be faulted. The location is perfect for bird watching with the Norfolk Wildlife Trust virtually on... More

We came to Hickling for the weekend in October 2010 as we were attending a sailing regatta at the nearby sailing club. We were greeted by our hosts for the weekend Shirley & Brian and were immediately offered refreshments. Briarley Lodge is a lovely place to stay in peaceful surroundings, very welcoming, warm and spotlessly clean. The choice of breakfast... More

We stayed at the Briarly Lodge from the 19th to 21st July 2010. The weather was excellent. The lodge is located in a quiet location and has a beautiful garden overlooking fields. . The lodge is also close (5 minute drive) to the Hickling Broad Norfolk Wildlife Trust site famous for its Swallowtail Butterflies in the summer. This is the... More

We received a friendly greeting and a very welcome cup of tea on arrival and shown to a clean, bright well maintained bedroom after an over lengthy journey from the North West.. Due to circumstances we saw very little of Hickling but the village pub was pleasant and served good wholesome food. It was exceptionally busy, probably due to it... More

This friendly B&B run by two genial hosts is superb. On enquiry about eating at the Greyhound, the extremely friendly local pub, Brian immediately secured us a dinner reservation. The next morning, after a comprehensive breakfast, which lasted us for most of the day Brian pointed us toward an almost deserted beach at Waxham where seals were visible on a... More

Quiet, Small and intimate B&B. (Prefer the term Homestay much more friendly). If you want to get away from it all in a beautiful part of England then this is the place. Friendly hosts Brian & Shirley will look after you very well. The house is in a quiet location but close to everything on the Broads, what more could... More

This was one of the most immacultae B&B's I've ever stayed in. The house itself is in a lovely location overklooking surronding fields with beautiful gardens. The bed was incredibly comfy, they had some kind of foam mattress cover that made it a perfect nights sleep (apart from the thunder!) Very clean, friendly, fresh milk in the room, large shower...
