We stayed on two occasions in this hotel, on our trip to Costa Rica. We really enjoyed the place. We stayed in the rooms with a kitchen, which were very large. Right outside your door there was a sitting area just for your use, which we used frequently. It felt like being in your own apartment. It was also very... More

I would have given this hotel a (4) or "Very Good", but there were a few problems. Problem #1 - The owner had unfortunately hired a young lady named Geneva to work at the front desk. To put it lightly her people skills lacked in several ways and she had no business working in tourism. Not only myself, but other... More

I am a mom, and this was my first time staying at Hotel Luisiana before returning to the U.S.. I requested a crib (it is actually a pack-n-play, it does the job too!), and I was provided with one. The staff were very helpful, and attentive. The room was very clean, there was a flat screen, a control temperature unit... More

We have stayed three times and the rooms are comfortable, clean and affordable. The rooms come with air con, a fridge, a flat screen tv and a mac computer. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pillow top beds were the softest beds I have ever slept in. The rooms also have free international calls. The only problem we had... More

This hotel is our go-to place whenever travelling in San Jose. Online prices for rooms are in the $30-40 range and are the best bargain you'll find. Rooms in the original building are spacious. The new building has smaller rooms but they're still quite large. This hotel is clean and the staff is always friendly. The only reason for the... More

We absolutely loved the Hotel Luisiana. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. Very elegant. The bathroom was gorgeous too. There was a large balcony with a little table and two chairs. We had bought some food and ate our breakfast outside our room, which was very nice. The hotel was well-located in terms of the airport. Staff were friendly... More

Very comfortable place to crash. Stayed here just as an overnight stop to and from SJO airport. Clean, modern, great staff. Only bad thing I can say is that during the two separate nights, one had a breakfast included and e other didn't. I soon realized that the night which included the breakfast wasn't going to work because I was... More
