Metis-sur-Mer is a beautiful town with many large estate cottages that enjoy great views and access to the ocean. A little off the beaten path with not many choices for accommodation or food. A number of shops were closed for the season as we arrived in mid September 2011. The Auberge du Grand Fleuve, is a old Auberge in the... More

We wanted to visit the famous Jardins de Metis-Reford Gardens and needed overnight accommodation in the area. We were so fortunate to find a recommendation for the Auberge du Grand Fleuve on the Reford Gardens website. The Auberge is located on a beautiful site overlooking the St. Lawrence River. The rooms are bright, clean and simple with a cottage-like feel.... More

We visited on a bad day weather wise, so no sunsets for us. But the setting is lovely and we could imagine how nice it would be by the river. Our room was large and comfortable, with a seating area inside, and a shower that would accommodate a wheelchair. The food was delicious and the service friendly. Buy your tickets... More

The Auberge is one of the best travel experiences we have had. There was a mix up with our reservations (absolutely necessary); make sure you confirm your reservation. Our hostess, Marie discovered that someone else had double booked (I call that lodging horseshoes), so we had a place to lay our heads. What a place!. Room was large, bed was... More

Very difficult to imagine an establishment anywhere with such a ratio of cost to value. My wife and I have traveled all over the world and rarely have stayed where the lodging, the food, the service, and the amenities gave so much value for so little cost...and then there's the view from the sliding glass door in Room 3...the St... This is a real nice accomodation not to miss on your way to the Gaspesie! There is a very friendly atmosphere thank to Marie and her husband. The big rooms on the river/sea side have great views and are very clean and tastefully decorated. Last but not least the special food wich will be prepared by the French cooker and... More

When I made my hotel reservation at Auberge du Grande Fleuve, I tried to make a dinner reservation only to be advised, "But of course madam, dinner and breakfast are included." Given the rate of $216 CDN for a room with a queen bed and view of the sea, the value proposition was great but would it meet my standards?... More
