Just spent a night at The Derby Arms and I have to give it 5 stars. It's a beautiful place surrounded by stunning scenery. The staff are lovely and the pub, restaurant and room were all really nice-our bed was to die for! The food portions were generous, and the burger and chips were delicious. We couldn't finish it. We... More

Four of us went here for an evening meal during the week, there were a few local drinkers but not many diners. We had reserved a table but I don't think it is necessary. We all ordered the rump steak all varying between rare and well done. All the steaks were cooked perfectly and served with traditional garnish-chips, mushrooms tomato... More

we recently had a most enjoyable evening at The Derby Arms, Having reserved a table at 7.30 it was good to see how busy and popular it was. We found a good choice of real ales and were met by Adam, the manager who was most helpful and shown to our table. Having had lunch earlier in the day,we went straight... More

The only thing I can say positively about this pub is the quality and range of the beers. How can this be considered a 'special place to stay'? We booked a table on the basis of good pub guides, etc. We were rushed to a poky, wobbly little table, encouraged to order and then our meals arrived within five minutes... More

Myself and my family go for Sunday lunch to this establishment on a regular basis and always find the food outstanding every time, I don't know where people get the idea that the beef there could be tough and tasteless in any way, it melts in my mouth every time, even the kids love it and they are so hard... Hidden away in a nice little village with not a lot else, It's a welcoming place, with a nice relaxed ambiance, good beers on offer, and friendly helpful staff. Alas, my most important criterion for assessing a restaurant is the quality of the food eaten, which in this case was not very good. The pasta we had was overcooked. The... More

Away with our year old Australian Labradoodle for the first time and looking for a dog friendly place to eat and there were a few others about. One was outside with it's owner having a pint and two others were in the bar. All well behaved and unobtrusive. There was a nice relaxed atmosphere, very friendly staff and a great... More

We visited the restaurant a couple of weeks ago (having booked a table) never been before. The staff were very friendly, and we had a very relaxed evening, with lovely food and locally brewed beer. The only thing that spoilt the evening were the ladies toilets- that were dated and not clean. More

This was our 4th trip to the Derby Arms, we really like the real ale, log fire and general relaxed atmosphere. We always have the steak and big chips because usually they are so good. Two medium cooked steaks were order and the first surprise was that they were served in a bowl. The member of staff who served us... More
