Enjoyed our stay at this traditional old inn at Kirkton of Glenisla. Wonderful log fire in bar/restaurant area. Food was excellent. Great value. Also dog-friendly which was a major factor in booking the hotel in first place. More

Slightly mad but I walked the Cateran Trail on the first week of December 2011. The only time the weather really let me down was the section from Glenshee to GlenIsla, however, within 5 minutes of reaching the hotel door I had my wet boots off in front of a roaring log fire with a well earned pint of real... This place is brilliant! We booked here for the 5 day Cateran Trail Package (and for an additional day at the end). It was a really great holiday. Warwick & Shelley are really nice genuine people. The bar always had a great roaring fire; the food was fantastic with a good choice on the menu; real ale!; residents lounge (that... More

I stayed here with my partner, who knows the Hotel and area very well. It was my first visit and initially I had doubts, but over the few days we were there it all really grew on me. The bar is where it all happens - fantastic fire, interesting and engaging guests, very good food and service. This is an... More

Would be a good idea to have a light outside the hotel as it is very dark on arrival. Reception in the dining area/bar was quite unusual to book in, when people are eating there meals was quite embarassing! Owner was nice enough, but would be better if there was more communication. Overall we really enjoyed the food, but the... More

A small glen hotel of character and comfort, unpretentious, peaceful location, attached pub well used by locals. Comfortable residents lounge with books/games and television with access to 40 channels. Very comfortable beds, lots of hot water for bathing after a hard day's walking and a real treat not to have a television in the bedroom. Run by hard working couple... More

I stayed at this hotel in July 2009 while walking the Cateran Trail though Perthshire with my mum. The hotel is excellently positioned for the trail. Service was very friendly. The hotel seemed to be run by a couple, with just a couple of staff to help them, but there was always somebody on hand to help us out. The... More
