Although fairly 'local' to the area I stayed for a night and loved the place so much I will make sure I stay again Dai and Rose are lovely people. The Inn is so cosy and the rooms a delight -full of welcoming atmosphere, spotlessly clean and well equipped This Inn deserves far more attention than it gets from local... more

We stayed for 3 days and it was by far the best accommodation during our 14 days Wales trip. Service, food and room were great. High price/value rating. Country lovers will be delighted. In this hotel you feel really at home. more

To celebrate my daughter's 21st Birthday, she expressed the wish for a family expedition to the summit of Snowden, the highest mountain in Wales! We picked the Lion Inn through personal recommendation. We stayed for one night and also enjoyed a family meal in their small restaurant. We were taken care of very well. The Inn is run by a... more

If you've ever wondered what an historic inn would be like without the usual horse brasses/chintz/hunting pictures, then visit the Lion Inn. Here are subtle paint colours, sleek crockery and cutlery and traditional Welsh woolen spreads and cushions. The owners are welcoming and informative with local knowledge- packled lunches available for walkers. A good choice of evening meals and generous... more

I have just returned from a suprise night away with my fiance and was compelled to write a review (something I have never done before) as this was positively one of the nicest places we have stayed. The hospititality was second to none and our room was also fantastic. The food did not disappoint either, the evening meal was delicious... more

It's very hard to say exactly what the best thing about the Lion Inn is. The location is idyllic, the scenary breathtaking and the accommodation cozy and comfortable. The beer was great (try the Flintshire!) and dinner is very tasty, wholesome, well-portioned and reasonably priced. Breakfast is amazingly good. The patrons' (Rose and Dai) welcome, service and attention to detail... more

We stayed at the Lion Inn from 27 to 29 December 2008 for two nights. Right from the start the signs were good. Many of the other places we tried to book simply did not answer the phone or never replied to emails. As most of the other reviews say, one of the best bits about the Lion Inn is... more

This is the second time that I've stayed at the Lion and my opinion of the establishment is in no way reduced. Getting there is always a problem (this time, we chickened out of the over-the-moors route from Pentrefoelas and instead tried the road from Llanrwst) but, even then, you do begin to wonder if you've got lost until Gwytherin... more
