I have resorted to writing this because the management at Hillbark Hotel are too arrogant or stupid to respond to our e-mail highlighting our disappointment at our recent trip to the Yellow Room. We booked the Yellow Room as a special occasion to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we had invited some friends to share our day. When we arrived... more

We wasn't even offered another room until our second evening of our stay, the management... more

Cosmetically this hotel appears perfect, lovely grounds and stylish building, good food and polite front line staff. However, the rooms were not worth the cost – there was no tea and coffee facilities, and problems with the plumbing meant our toilet was out of use for a night, and we had a plumber in the room for most of the... more

My Wife and I spent a long time searching for the ideal wedding venue in the North West and after looking at lots of places including fake castles, country houses and barns we settled for Hillbark for a number of reasons. The location, I will post some of the wedding photos and you will see what I mean - it... more

Booked this hotel yesterday very last minute through late rooms, had no idea what to expect as hadn't seen any reviews or pictures. We had been informed when booking that it may be a little noisy as there was a wedding party but we had said we didn't mind. When we arrived a couple of hours after booking at 9pm... more

Gazpacho - A quarter teaspoon each of finely chopped capsicum, tomato and onion. The waiter then opens a little bottle of soup and pours it over. Three spoonfuls of soup if lucky. Egg - "Cooked for 1 hour at 64 degrees". The result is a jellyfied poached-type egg with 2 asparagus spears and a tiny sprinkle of chopped chorizo. Foie... more

This is a very pleasant hotel. We found the staff friendly and attentive. The suite was acceptable in size and comfortable. The Grill restaurant served very nice food. We had a 10 year old with us and so retired to the room at 11.00pm. We were overlooking "the Marquee" in which a Wedding evening event was taking place. The noise... more

I was married at Hillbark in August 2009 and the whole day was truly magical. Hillbark is set in the grounds of the stunning Wirral countryside, it’s a beautiful Tudor building, contemporary decorated with beautiful furnishing as well as possessing a relaxing and homely atmosphere. Looking for a wedding venue in the North West of England that would cater for... more

Our fourth visit to the Hillbark, not because we love it so much, but because it's one of the better hotels in an area we need to visit regularly. Again, our overall feeling is that this is a very charming , period building with beautuful oak panelling in many of the public areas, but the bedrooms themselves are rather small... more
