Glad we found this lovely pub. We've been twice for lunch, and it has been excellent. It is in beautiful countryside too. Perfection all round.

This little country pub with rooms (and restaurant) is well worth a visit. Whether you require overnight accommodation or just and meal and/or a drink you cannot go wrong. Log fires, local real ales, and locally sourced fresh homemade food are all excellent, served up by friendly landlord/lady and their staff. There is an ‘every day’ menu supplemented by a...

A group of 4 of us went for lunch at The Punch Bowl Inn. One of our friends said that the curried parsnip soup was THE best he'd ever had. The portion sizes were generous, the staff friendly and the restaurant was clean and cosy. We definitely visit there again.

Situated in a village on the side of the pennines. Beamish museum 30 minutes drive. Blanchland 10 minutes. Beautiful drives and miniature railway and Hadrians Wall all close by.
Lovely food, reasonable rooms, excellent, informative hosts and staff. Large choice of local beers, log fires and no juke box!
Step outside and hear nature. Little traffic and no planes. Lovely...

We did not stay over as it was a bit out of our budget but the food was fantastic

The room was very good, it had a farmhouse feel but was also quite modern and contemporary with all the usual facilities. Particularly liked the bed, was...

Whether you stay here or not, you HAVE to come here at least once just for the food! The setting is really nice and the food is absolutely perfect! There isn't much on the menu compared to other lesser places, but what is there is done really, really well. The ingredients are really fresh too, they could even tell you...
