“Good place to stay, close to the castles”

I stayed here recently for one night, on the way to Neuschwantstein castle. First of all, the ticket line for the castle opens at 8:00 am., so you should try to go early, otherwise you'll be waiting in line for a while (the English tours are only at set times). This small family run hotel is in Hopferau, a little town approximately 15 minutes drive from Fussen and 25 min. from the castles. We found this place as a last minute option via Booking. com. Please note that we offer special prices for long term stays and that July is really high season in this area and hard to make a good bargain....in a cleand and safe place of course!! We stayed in Gasthof Engel for one night travelling from our hometown in the Netherlands to Italy. The room was spacious and very clean, so was the bathroom. If you're looking for a place to stay in Bavaria, near the castles especially, but out of the way from all of the touristy stuff, this is your place.
