After several visits to Le Gasseau, we returned in September for two stays on our journey to and from France and we were delighted to find that, as usual, everything was excellent. The quality of the rooms, the standard of cleanliness, the welcome and above all the food are consistently of a very high standard indeed. I consider Le Gasseau... More

We chose this hotel after the good reviews on Tripadvisor. The hotel itself is very pleasant with charming rooms in a very peaceful location. BUT The price of the restaurant is quite expensive, and of course having spent most of the day travelling the last thing we want to do upon arrival is to venture out and find an alternative... More

We do apologies for the leak that happened when our dear customer was in our house. By the way it is true the leak happened in a corner of the dining room and did not disturb the client neither in the bedroom, neither in the dining room. We obviously fixed this malfunction and any customer can now rent this room... More

We were expecting a standard hotel experience, as the price was very reasonable, but were very pleasantly surprised by the whole visit. Set in beautiful grounds and managed by very obliging and friendly owners, it felt more like we were part of the family than simply guests. We had some very interesting chats with the owners, who went out of... More

This stop over was a very pleasant surprise. The setting is lovely but we did not realise there was a tree climbing theme park right next door. Our bedroom looked across these trees and lovely out of season but not sure we would find it the same in high season. Our room was clean, large, no frills, slightly hard bed... More

Our approach to Tripadvisor has always been to 'tell it as we find it', and we truly cannot fault this hotel or its owners. We had just one night here on the way back through to Caen recently, and we truly wish it had been possible to stay longer. Didier and Theo made us very welcome, and we can only... More

The first negative review I have ever written for trip advisor.True it is a quiet location when the adventure park people have gone home but beware prior to 7pm. There is an ongoing feud ( told to us by the owners of the hotel) with the lady who runs the adventure park for the local authority. On our arrival we... More

Incredibly friendly and welcoming hosts made this a very nice overnight stop. We arrived in open cars in heavy rain, and the owners could not have been more helpful in getting us settled in and dried off - their excellent English was a bonus as well. Very nice rooms - spacious, impeccably clean and nicely furnished - and dinner and... More

worth going off the autoroute (beautiful countryside) for the pleasure of staying at Le Gasseau. A very relaxing break to the journey back to England. Hosts cannot do enough for you in their beautiful property with excellent restaurant for dinner and breakfast. We will be booking again for our return trip in September! More
