Half an hour's walk into the nearest small town, surrounded by fields, with the Gredos mountains in the distance and a pretty little river nearby ... perfect if you're looking for an escape from the bright lights and big city. I had a large, clean, comfortable and well-appointed room in the main building; the one drawback was that it only... More

I also stayed at this hotel as part of the Vaughan town language group. The hotel is quite isolated (3 hours from Madrid) but this was definitely a plus for the purpose of our stay and I found it so peaceful and relaxing. I really enjoyed the programme and this hotel was an excellent choice. I was worried about the... More

VaughanTown (English conversation program) selected this 4 star hotel for its 5 night/6 day program. The hotel staff was helpful, the room large and comfortable and everything worked well, from the free WiFi to the good shower and air conditioning. Extras (such as the bar, swimming pool, tennis court and tiny gym) were overpriced. The hotel restaurant was not rated... More

This hotel is located virtually in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by farms and mountains in the distance. The rooms are comfortable and most have a spa bath (which they call a jacuzzi, but it really is just a normal bath with jets). The room has every other amenity one could want and there is a 'spa' facility that houses... More

The hotel itself was lovely, and the rooms were very nice. But here we were in this absolutely gorgeous setting, with nowhere to sit outside. I was with a language learning group, and we all wanted to spend time enjoying the beauitiful vistas, and we had to sit on the grass, or the steps, or worst of all, indoors where... More

The hotel is stunningly situated with mountains as a backdrop and to the side. It's possible to walk down to the River Tormes in 30 minutes and to the village (opposite direction) in 30 mins too. Rooms ( I was in the side block) are spacious and very clean with lovely views. (Ground floor -some of the first floor rooms... More

Lovely hotel, lovely food, lovely spacious rooms with amazing views of the mountains, jacuzzi in en suite bathroom, buffet breakfast lovely and lots to choose from and all other meals were just as nice. Rooms had tv, phone, mini bar, safe, wardrobe and so forth. Although there was a fee for the swimming pool it was well worth it for... More

I stayed at this hotel for five nights as part of a group of 15 "Anglos" and 15 Spaniards sponsored by www.vaughantown.com The Anglos were from different English speaking countries and were there as "volunteers" to speak English for 12 hours per day (including at meals) to the Spaniards (from all over Spain) who were there for a total immersion... I stayed here in the first week of June 2009. The setting and location of the hotel is amazing – fantastic views across to the Gredos mountains. The buildings themselves blend into the countryside and as previous people have commented they are really quite lovely and very deceptive. Behind the old stone walls the rooms are spacious and modern with... More

I have stayed in this hotel 3 times now and I never cease to be amazed when I return by the peace and calm that decends on arrival. Located about 3 kms from the nearest village (Barco de Avila) it feels like you are out in the west of Ireland - rocky walls and hills that are quite green early... More
