We booked in for two nights, having read a mystery guest review in the Sunday Times following the publication of the Good Hotel Guide César Awards for 2012. The Horse & Groom won the “best pub with rooms” category. Although Bourton On The Hill is not actually very far from us, we were ready for a break and decided to...

This was the third short break we have spent here in recent years. The standard remains high with outstanding service from the staff. We have tried a different room each time and every time say that this is the best one! The breakfast are excellent with all local produce including eggs from the chickens in the garden. The dinners are...

Came across the Horse and Groom whilst walking in the area in August. Beautiful sunny day so all outside tables occupied. Being in walking boots we ventured inside with trepidation but we needn't have worried, we were made to feel very welcome! The place was buzzing, attentive polite staff, nothing was too much trouble. Lovely food, well presented, value for...

The rooms were well appointed, very clean, with lovely views down the hill and across the Cotswold. The homemade flapjack in the room...

Stayed at this charming pub for the Aug long weekend and was very impressed. The staff were polite and charming, food glorious (so good we had to ask the chef to put aside toffee meraningue at breakfast otherwise we wouldn't get one!!). The rooms were comfortable and lots of pillows.

Stayed here for just one night (sadly) although the friends we were with had stayed for two. Lovely "pub with rooms". Great modernsied rooms (extremely clean) and lovely food, much of it locally produced and much of the fruit, salad and veg from the garden, as well as eggs from the chickens in the garden. Completely booked for Saturday dinner...

We stayed here as a surprise birthday present for our son & his wife. Tom, the very friendly landlord, was great at conspiring with me to decorate our dinner table with birthday balloons etc. Recently decorated rooms in modern style at a very reasonable price. The restaurant menu is constantly changing (good) and plenty of wines by the glass. And...

Stayed one night for my birthday, had been to the pub before for Sunday lunch which was great, and decided to have a very short break, in one of our favourite parts of the country. Lovely room, had obviously been refurbished and was absolutely spotless, the bed was really comfortable. The room looked out over the beer garden which we...
