Enjoyed this nice little hotel. Great location, not cheap but pretty good value for what you pay, around 250 a twin but more space than usual, supermarket next door, great coffee shops restaurants, shopping , recommend.

I now live in country victoria and had to head down to Melbourne for business. I lived in Fitzroy through my 20's, when I saw that I could stay near the corner of Johnson and Brunswick Streets, I couldnt beleive it, the coolest location in Melbourne.
If you're not familiar with melbourne; you are in the heart of the best...

The best place to stay in Melbourne in our humble opinion. Very reasonably priced - good value - more $$ to spend on yummy food & clothes!! We have stayed in other places (eg Punt Hill Manhattan in Flinders Lane =shoebox small & same kinda price) but will always return to Tyrian! Just returned from our third stay!!! Would not...

This is a great location to stay. Fantastic shops are just at your doorstep. And trams, and taxis, and a supermarket.
The rooms were really comfortable, and had a nice level of luxury. The only down-side would be that the windows on the street side don't seem to be very well fixed. It feels like there is a breeze coming...

Thanks so much for your lovely review Emma,
Just to let you know we are currently having all the front windows re-fit to make sure as little noise gets in as possible! So next time it should be extremely quiet!
Thanks again and hope this helps.

I booked a 2 bedroom apartment for family and hosted drinks and canapes here for the Hens group before we walked to dinner.
We booked in advance and paid around $500 for the night because it was Grand Prix weekend (inflated rates to be expected at this time I suppose). With that said the apartment was very well set out,...

If you really want a home-away-from-home while you’re enjoying Melbourne’s many delights, then Tyrian Apartments are the go!
In town to spend quality time with a good friend who had travelled from Singapore for a conference, our two bedroom apartment was well-equipped with all those comfy things you leave at home: dishwasher, iPod dock, huge television and DVD player (which...

Lovely and well equipped one bedroom apartment right in the heart of the action. Really great location between two tram routes, and close to cool shops, bars and restaurants. The room was great, spacious and light, nice little balcony with a city view. Great crockery and facilities like a nice dishwasher, big mirror in the bathroom and huge shower. Lots...

After many trips to Melbourne over the years, always staying in the CBD, this time we stayed in Fitzroy for a change. It was great and we will certainly stay here again.
We had a rear one bedroom apartment on second floor. We had no traffic noise (unlike other reviewers), but a few yobs screaming and smashing bottles in the...

sasanqua, Thank you so much for your in depth review of Tyrian and Fitzroy!
Just a quick note that we too have realised the lighting was too dark and just in the last couple of days that has been changed to new brighter LED lights!
Look forward to having you stay again soon!!
Thanks again,

We rented a two bedroom apartment on the fourth floor and enjoyed the well equiped rooms and central location to restaurants, cafes and shops. Staff were helpful and friendly. The main drawback of the apartment was the street noise. The double glazed windows in the front bedroom and loungeroom (facing the street) were not sufficient to properly block out the...

Thank you for your review and we are so sorry to hear it was too noisy for you!
It does get very busy on the main streets in Fitzroy especially on the weekends and we are looking into some noise preventatives to help the problem.
Thanks again and we hope to see you again!
