recently had the pleasure of staying at a wonderful b&b. The view from the lodge was beautiful, it overlooked scenic Bantry Bay. The rooms were very clean and confortable with great service and a daily outstanding breakfast meal. Joe and Deidre Oconnell were very gracious and informative about the surrounding area and special places to visit. I am looking forward... More

We had the opportunity to stay in the nearby summer home of friends, when the water pump broke and we were forced to find alternative lodging for a few days. The Aran Lodge was recommended by a local neighbor and what a lucky break for us. We were greeted warmly by the O'Connells, owners of the B&B. You won't find... More

I cannot speak highly enough of the Aran Lodge in Ballylickey. The property offers stunning views of the environs, and the accommodations are sparkling clean, comfortable and inviting. The owners, the O'Connells, are superlative hosts, so very helpful and knowledgeable about West Cork--not just where to visit, but also the history of each place. The atmosphere is warm, yet private,... More

A wonderful and delightful stay. Spring in west Ireland is lovely. The Aran lodge was a peaceful, beautiful setting. We were well taken care of and will most certainly return. West Cork is a natural wonder. spectacular bay views from the surrounding hills (as well as our B&B room).

An, ideal choice. A warm welcome, comfortable room, lovely view, very good breakfast, and helpful hosts. Lovely people!!! We loved our stay, and felt like we were part of the family. We felt this is B and B at its best. If you do not want to drive into town for dinner there is a very friendly pub at the... More

No nice and comfy to come "home" to after a long day of walking on the Sheep's Head Way. Breakfast was excellent -- even my husband's omelette what at first Dierdre didn't think she could make right -- it was perfect! Our group of 12 had two excellent night's stays.

Hosts Deirdre and Joe are exceptionally personable, helpful, and thorough in meeting travelers needs, plus from the rooms and garden are kept to perfection with picturesque views from every window. The breakfast spread Deirdre prepares is second to none. Enjoy a great night, and the best start to any day.

Our charity bike ride of 12 people including 2 large mini buses was catered for superbly by this very friendly and hospitable family which was the first of several over night stays on our 340 mile ride from Cork to Galway. It was no trouble even to get our very wet cycling gear washed and dried for the next day... More

I found this lovely B&B on this site and I am SO glad I booked it! My room was great with a very, very comfortable bed (most welcome after hiking Sheep's Head) and the views are quite amazing!! Comfort is always key when traveling and the Aran Lodge goes above and beyond. The breakfasts were super tasty and hearty for... More
