I stayed here for 3 nights back in 2009. The beds are amazing and the location is the most beautiful I've ever been to. The food was always amazing, though overpriced and portions a bit small. Rob and Liz are kind of a mixed bag. I got the vibe they were only even a little bit friendly because I was... More

We arrived on the sleeper for a 5 day stay and were warmly welcomed by Rob and Liz . We particularly enjoyed the food , comfortable bedroom and public rooms and good service . Rob and Liz ( proprietors ) could not have done more for us and altogether it was a great experience More

I would like to be able to review the dinner at this hotel but after driving 22 miles to this hotel for evening dinner booked online we were greeted by a locked door. After knocking the landlord opened it and, on being given our name, told us that our booking had been for 7.00 rather than 7.30 and that he... More

My husband and I had intended travelling to Carrour on the train from Rannoch Station. We missed it by a matter of minutes but having set out from home elsewhere in Perthshire very early, we thought we would at least have a comfort stop and coffee at the Moor of Rannoch Hotel. We could see people in the conservatory munching... More

Four of us stayed here on a train trip around Scotland, we could not have picked a better loctaion for our first night of the trip. It was lovely sitting relaxing by a nice open fire, having eatan a well cooked and delicious meal and enjoying a drink. We were very well looked after in this beautiful spot. More

a Superb location, fantastic home cooking and a log fire. small and very friendly. will be back , highly recommended. if being really picky would have liked a drying room, scottish oatcakes with the cheese course and a cup of tea on arrival. More

We stayed here for 1 night and we agree the rooms and location is are nice, but we do agree with several people that the food is very expensive and portions are small. But the taste and preparation of the food was quite good. The other problem is the water. I can understand that it is not like home, but... More

The hotel is comfortable and Liz & Rob are friendly hosts. We stayed 3 nights to give us 2 full days to go walking. Rannoch Moor is very isolated. Because of this, you will be reliant on the hotel for evening meals, which are a good standard but do not come cheap. Check menus in advance if this is a... More

We were on a backpacking break and walked to the hotel from across the moor. This was the second time that this hotel had been in our route and it was just as good as the previous stay two years ago. Very small hotel but has a high standard of care and food. Our room was large with good views... More

we stayed here for 2 nights and have to say all the reviews about location are perfectly correct, however we do agree with several people that the food is very expensive and portions are very small .not what one would like after a hard days walking. The other bigger problem if you are doing a hard days walking is the water......they... More
