I had been dealing with Sue at The Duxford to organise a large family gathering and found her efficient, friendly and really accommodating. In the end, the large gathering never happened but just five of us booked in at the last minute for Sunday lunch and we were glad we did. The Duxford Lodge is comfortable and friendly with its... My (new!) husband and I could not praise the staff of the Duxford Lodge highly enough. Unfortunately our wedding party was a little too big to have our reception here, but we and all of the guests who travelled to Cambs spent the later-evening and night of our wedding here and then breakfasted together the following morning. From our very... More

The good points. Easy to find, very friendly and attentive staff and the grounds are good to wander around. The bed was comfortable (If a touch small) and I did get a good nights sleep. They had a good selection of wine by the glass! and the breakfast was good. The OK Points. The Bar food (Which I did chose... More

Although the guest had booked a double room for single occupancy, in error we allocated one of our rooms which is only ever sold as a single because it only has a 4 foot bed and he has now been sent a credit as some recompence. The pictures on our website are of our newly refurbished rooms - we have... More

Old, tired, terrible service, indifferent staff.NOT IDEAL AFTER A BUSY BUSINESS DAY. Kitchen loudly Staff arguing from kitchen about a simple request for jacket spud. ( shouted loudly they are not a pub ) Really not helpfull. When steak and kidney pudding arrived, the meat was still cold in the middle so sent back - did not risk anything else.... More

We are aware that refurbishment is required but the present economic climate only allows us to do one room at a time as finance allows but we have completed seven rooms so far. In fact, the original room the guest checked into was one that has been refurbished but the only other one available that he moved to has yet... More

I recently spent 5 days in this lovely little hotel with 8 colleagues on business. We all found it to be a warm and friendly experience. It is not the pristine minimilist experience of corporate hotels but instead it is comfortable and very homely. Ok it does need some refurbishment in places and the shower had a mind of its... More

I stayed at the Duxford recently and it was a breath of fresh air hotel wise.I stay away a lot on business and usually pick the large hotel chains but for a change thought i'd try an independent and i was niot dissapointed. Nice welcome followed by a lovely evening meal and breakfsat and always a smile from the owner... More

Having spent the last 14 years living out of hotels from Monday to Friday this was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were pretty much what you would expect for a village hotel in this price range, serviceable and clean. What really stands out is the friendly staff and the wonderful evening meal menu. I've eaten at some very expensive restaurants... More

Stayed for business on a Tuesday evening Jan 2012. Comfy room and very clean. Freeview TV and wi-fi. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Evening meal very good but slightly expensive. Peaceful location, little noise from outside hotel but very creaky floors in room 2! Hot water was hot but bath was a bit on the small side for comfort. Had... More

My wife and I decided to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary coupled with a three day stay, let me say at the outset we could not have chosen better. The staff were friendly, helpful and went beyond the call of duty to ensure that all the arrangements went to plan. We were given a separate private dinning room which was... More
