My partner & I stayed here for 3 nights in Oct this year - during the real ale promotion week. Plus points: great food (both dinner and breakfast), comfy beds, clean bathroom, nice freebies (biscuits, coffee & toiletries)and lovely bar/restaurant ambience. Minus points:uncommunicative, aloof staff, tatty finish to room (exposed wire on our grotty light fitting/mildew tiling in bathroom), and having... More

Thank you for your review and for highlighting all the plus points to the Listers. I am so sorry that we also managed to notch up some minus points –especially as so many of these are well within our control. I will ensure that the room is checked in terms of light fittings and deep- cleaning of the room bathroom,... More

Stayed here for two nights recently. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was very good and the room was comfortable. The home made biscuits and real coffee in the room was a treat. All in all we had a lovely stay, just beware of the low door frames! More

We had high hopes for this weekend with a glorious sun filled end of Sept. The village is lovely and the setting for the Lister arms ideal. It turned out that it was also real ale week and the pub had made a great effort at promoting and matching beers with a menu. Unfortunately this is a place which has... More

Thank you for your review. We were admittedly a little over run with the abnormally hot autumn weather and our usual casual help back at University, we regret to hear you feeling that you felt unwelcome or that you might be putting us out, this really is a million miles away from how we would like you to feel. Please... More

We had a lovely stay at the Lister Arms. The staff were particularly welcoming and helpful. We'd opted for a DB&B package and the evening meal was delicious. Some of the decor in the room could have done with a little touching up but it certainly didnt affect our stay and I would definitely return and recommend it to others. More

We too stayed in room 8 and agree with all Mrs Brit said about it. We felt spoiled after a visit to Deeside scotland the hotel there was just like fawlty towers only more wacky. what... More

We've just come back from a lovely stay at the Lister Arms. Our room was really comfortable despite being small, and the staff were really friendly. The location is wonderful too - you can step out of the front door and into some beautiful scenery, it's perfect for a walking holiday. The only thing that stops me giving it five... More

We stayed for one night at Lister Arms in Malham and thought it was okay. We booked based on a friend's recommendation where he stated 'Chef/patron trying to make a go of it. Food is pretty good as is the accommodation. Just need to work on the front of house service and they have cracked it.' After staying there I... More

We stayed at the Lister Arms two weeks ago. We chose the Lister Arms based on the reviews on TripAdvisor, and I'll agree with the other posts. Our room was small, but comfy and the bathroom was spotless. We were in room 8 and it was very warm, even with the window open at night. The staff was friendly, but... More

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The hotel kept our bikes safely stored for us as we were completing the way of the roses cycle ride. The food was exceptional. More

This is the type of English pub and inn that I am sure most people imagine (and hope) that English pubs will be like. It is picture postcard perfect and in a great location for Malham Cove and hiking round Malhamdale. Also it is a short trip over to Ingleton for the Falls and White Scar Cave. The food was... More
