We've stayed at Craigmore for the last five years - it's important to us to rent a cottage that allows dogs. We've already booked again for next year! Craigmore is charming, well equipped and comfortable, and had wonderful views from the sitting rooms along the beach to Whitby - the Abbey is clearly visible except in the worst weather. The... More

We didn't choose the best week end for the weather...wettest drought! But the accommodation was spacious and clean with a lovely view of Sandsend. There is a kitchenette that is well stocked with a complimentary bottle of wine, juice, milk, butter and jams. So breakfast is self catering with stocked cereals which means washing up afterwards and bed making. We... More

I am pleased that you enjoyed your short break - unfortunatly I can't control the weather!! I am grateful for you doing the washing up etc - this is something that I usually do when you are out. We do leave breakfast for you to 'self cater' so you have ultimate flexability - either as the sun rises or very... More

The porthole has a lovely view over sandsend beach from the terrace and through the patio doors. You can enjoy a nice long walk to Whitby and back along the beach. The accomadation itself is perfect for a couple who want a few days away, which is clean and spacious with good amenities and pleasant hosts. More

We stayed at Howdale for a week 20-27th April to celebrate a birthday. What an excellent week. The cottage was fabulous and felt like home the minute we walked through the door. The location was perfect from the river, valley and woods one way and the sea views the other. The cottage was so well kitted out with lovely furniture... More

Set in a quiet valley just a minute's walk from the beach at Sandsend. Hardly needed the car all week as there were some lovely walks from the cottage, especially along the disused railway track on the cliffs. Charming cottage with all the essentials and every audio/visual/wifi facility you would need. Walked along the beach to Whitby and walked back... More

We stayed at the Melrose for 3 nights and cannot fault the accommodation in any way. A large spacious house, with a real feeling of home, the children had a whale of a time exploring and the adults could relax on big squashy sofa's by the roaring fire with a sea view. Brilliant location, immaculately clean, very well equipped kitchen... More

There are wonderful views from the house. This is a well equiped and comfortable home, with plenty of space for seven people. There are lovely walks along the beach, over the cliff and into the woods - all adjacent to the house. More

Our family stayed in Craigmore over Easter and we had a fabulous time. The house was large, comfortable, well equipt and clean and the views down the beach were stunning. A fantastic base to explore the Yorks coast but saying that you don't need to travel to far as there is so much to do and see from the door.... More

Jenny and I had a great weekend in a great location. Hardly used the car - walked to and from Whitby along the beach, along the cliffs and into the woods. Teeming with wildlife all around. Peaceful lane with no traffic past the house. Comfortable with all the audio/visual/wifi set ups you would need. Have a look at some photos... More

We have been coming to stay at this house for several years, twice a year. There are usually 2 couples and a dog and we find it spacious, comfortable, clean and safe. We are reasonably active so don’t have a problem with the steps. There are fabulous views down to Whitby and we often sit out on the terrace for... More
