Just like the review by travelunderduress from December 2011, me and my partner also stayed in room 5 !!!!!!! What an experience! We checked in at the bar with the manager who needs to learn a bit more manners considering he is running a business!!! ....off to room 5 we went! I'm sure I booked a double room ....o yes,... More

I booked here because it was recommended by the BMW people for the duration if a 4 day course i was undertaking . Really Miffed because I wasted over an hour trying to get my WiFi connected on one of Banyers 3 networks. I'm sorry but connectivity is essential these days. This hotel can't offer a decent service - so... More

Looks like a stately home on the outside. More Fawlty Towers on the inside. Stepped through the door and we had to queue behind regulars to check in at the bar. And from there it was all downhill - a soggy tissue left on the stairs for our entire stay, a strange aroma in the place, a hair dryer kindly... More

Had lunch. Reasonable menu for choice, unfortunately steak and kidney pie was a soup plate of meat that was super-heated with a tiny bit of pastry balanced on top! Wait staff in the main very scruffy- in fact one waiter was outside clearing weeds from entrance before he stepped into dining room (hope he washed his hands!) Other waiter in... More

Ok so the single rooms are a bit small but all you're doing is sleeping in them! The bar is really smart & comfortable & welcoming, the food was great (& most of all they adapted the menu to taste, rare these days) but what made this place 5* was the welcome - 100% pure gold - I wish I... More

I was staying in Royston for one night on business. I chose the Banyers hotel because the outside of the building looked very grand. Once I went inside, I was not disappointed at all. I checked in at the bar, which was comfortable and looked newly decorated. Every member of staff I dealt with was professional and courteous. I had... More

Me and my Mum stayed in The Banyers in February 2012 and had a really great time. The room actually took our breath away, beautifully decorated, the most comfortable, clean bed, roll top bath in a very modern bathroom which also had a massive shower and separate dressing area. I was soo impressed with the room and thought it couldn't... More

We went for an evening meal here with family midweek in February. We were pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. The bar area was very comfortable and the service attentive. We were the only people in the restaurant but it was warm - they seem to have invested in some modern firebowls! The food was lovely but the portion... More

I stayed at the Banyers Hotel in late January on a business trip - I was greeted by a very friendly bar man who checked me in, handed me my key and guided me to my room (and carried my bags). I stayed in room 14 which had a lovely view of the back garden, plasma TV and an amazing... More
