this nice old style hotel is just 2,5 km from main train station in basel,
the entrance is not very impressive but the rooms are nice and spacious - prices range around 175 CHF.
there is no reception service in the night time.
very clean and good beds as well as very low voice level.

The Hotel has been renovated and refurbished by the mairie of Binnigen. The historical Place with the restaurant and the small hotel adjacient are wonderful. I had a nice room on the 2nd floor with an antique wooden floor, a comfortable bed and a well renovated bathroom. The place ist marvelous, you feel like a hundert years ago...but everything is...

The photo were misleading to us: the building is nice but is not in the countryside.
We arrived by car and the entrance is not as obvius as you would expect for a 4-star hotel. The nearby garage has not a sheltered connection to the hotel building...and if it rains it's not very comfortable.
