We stayed here mainly just for the novelty of this Japanese experience - I can't say that I would ever like to do it again! The hotel is very old and dated. The staff don't speak English very well so it was a little frustrating checking in and understanding the process. You have to use a coin locker for your... More

i went there for one stay to try another capsule hotel in japan and i was very disappointed when it comes to the cleaninless issue. though i had a good sleep, everything was dirty, from the lockers to the sticky light switches. i can understand that the building/facilities was old, but that's not an excuse in my book! i had... Me and my boyfriend like to stay in capsule hotels in Japan, unfortunately for me many hotel are for man only. Capsule Riverside Hotel was a big disappointment, it's very old and many public places are very smoky, it's was a fist capsule where reception tried to sell shampoo (it's available inside for free be aware), bath area is not... Coming to Tokyo I knew I wanted to stay in the classic capsule hotels I had heard about and seen in movies, and Capsule Hotel Riverside doesn't disappoint. First, before going here you need to realize what you are going here for. It's for the experience, not lavish luxury (you're sleeping in a small box after all). The service was... More

Really enjoyed my two night stay here after a noisy stay in a hostel. The capsules were surprisingly large (it was my first time in a capsule hotel) and very comfortable I found. They supply you with sleeping gear, pillows ... the room temperature is perfectly regulated too which was great in winter. I stayed on the women's only floor.... More

My daughter and I stayed at the capsule hotel for 3 days in August 2010. We are from the US. They allow both male and female, which worked for us. Many other capsule hotels do not. It was a very nice experience. While there, we met many people from other countries on holiday staying there. Visiting with them in the... More

Same price as a dorm room in a youth hostel. No service at all, you even pay through a machine. The guy at the desk does not speak English. You pay for your luggage through lockers as expensive as the public ones, and for 12 hrs only. It looks old, like it has not been renovated for a while. We... More

convenient hostel, expensive lockers available (3000yen for a big bag for 12hours, you need to repay everytime you open), pot noodle vending machine, tv room. Nice view over the city on the roof. More

We did the capsule hotel just for one night for the experience of it, and it was pretty cool. The capsule was clean, had a light, tv, clock. The room with all of the capsules smelled bad. Bathroom was as clean as possible with that many people using it. Bath and shower area had a deck and fantastic views, super-cool.... More

My sister and I absolutely loved this place, you gotta try a capsule while you're in Japan. This is one of the few capsule hotels that accept women. Cheap as, good location near the station in Asakusa where you probably will be visiting if you visit Tokyo. Sleeping was great, and I can't imagine it wouldn't be great unless you... More
