e booked this hostel initially because it was a good deal, but really you just get what you pay for. we had the basic twin room right by the door and it was SO incredibly noisy. The eating/cooking area was right outside our door and you can hear everything. the microwave, people cooking... anybody talking...might as well join the conversation!... More

We stayed in the 8 person dorm, which was good and in the wooden cupboards, which could have used a little more ventilation. Staff were very helpful, free internet was great More

To begin with, I got very lost, the photo on the website showed a building, but they had since moved, a bit scary being my first time to Japan, and my first time travelling away on my own with a friend. But once we go there, I had a lovely stay! Very clean, 100yen store round the corner, and the... More

Pros: room is cheap but for a reason! staff are friendly. Cons: rooms are tiny and walls are paper thin. bathroom smells like old feet all the time and only two showers per floor. hostel is generally not very clean, but then again, it's cheap. Location is not great - a bit of a walk from the asakusa subway and... More

Checked into Khaosan on Tuesday, May 4th - we were allowed to leave our bags in the living room, while we went sight-seeing. When we got back our bags were upstairs and we were able to check in, in a matter of 5 minutes. The room is rather small, but for $28/night, what more can you expect. There's a working... More

Stayed for one night with a friend in a double room. Room was tiny, barely enough room for two bunk beds but it was clean so no complaints there. Bathroom was really smelly and 2/3 toilets were broken. The light did not work. Shower (separate room from bathroom) were clean and had good pressure and hot water. Only two of... More

My sister and I - both uni students from Melbourne Australia really enjoyed this hostel. We stayed 5 nights in a private double room with shared bathroom. It was very secure, very clean and the staff were very happy to help with directions. There is a 7-11 nearby (great for breakfast on the cheap) Its also very close to Sensoji... More

I had many problems with this hostel and could not recommend it to anyone. The only reason I stayed here for one night was to be close to the train to the airport. It's only one stop away from the limited express train to Narita airport, but that's the *only* positive thing I have to say about it. First, the... More

Ok. So the rooms were impossible to do anything except sleep in, and the showers are a little, well bad for privacy, but I liked it here. The lounge was a nice touch upstairs, three computers with unlimited internet, a fridge and freezer, a TV, magazines, travel books and sofa. I met many travellers from all over the world, including... More

Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean but really small and the walls were paper thin. Because there's a bar downstairs, it got very noisy at night - the last thing one would want after flying 15 hours. This place has good value for those who are staying for more than a few days, otherwise it is not near... More
