Small hotel in good location. Ueno area was perfect for food lovers and electric shoppers and not too expensive location. $100 per night in tokyo was not bad at all. Hotel Fukudaya is my favourite hotel accommodation in Tokyo. Shibuya and Daikanyama are both a short walk away. Fabulous eating places in the side streets, supermarket and convenience stores close by. You can get the bus outside to Shibuya station (3 minutes). The Hotel Fukudaya is a little gem of a ryokan, reasonably priced and handy for exploring Tokyo. Set in a tiny but attractive garden, we were given a warm welcome by staff, who spoke English and were patient with our few words of Japanese. I stayed at this hotel for a week, in a Japanese-style room on the ground floor. The staff was very friendly. The room did not have blinds, but was otherwise very nice.
