The Imperial Hotel has a certain cachet in Tokyo-everyone was impressed that I was staying there, and quite rightly so. The service was magnificent....if I asked for the tiniest object (nail file, nail polish remover) it was rushed up to my room almost before I'd put the phone down. The breakfast restaurants were splendid; again, service was wonderful, discreet but... more

I spend more time at this property than any other hotel in the world, thanks to my job which takes me to Tokyo with high frequency. Although there are more than 10 hotels I can choose from, including the Ritz Carlton and the Conrad, I always come back to the Imperial. The location is one of the best in Tokyo.... more

The service is great. Good view of Tokyo from room. However, I would try to avoid some of the rooms in the Tower section where privacy can be compromised unless draw curtains. This hotel is one of the older ones in the capital, but nothing old about it because rooms have been renovated in the past few years. We stay... more

Our room 1414 was very "standard" in size, nothing remarkable; however, it was absolutely clean, comfortable, tranquillissima and I was able to control the air conditioning, all a necessity for my personal comfort! All that can be said has been correctly noted in prior reviews. - Yes, the bathroom was terrific. Toto rules the world of bathroom accommodations! Although the... more

I stayed at The Imperial on business for a week. I chose it because it is one of few hotels in central Tokyo and close to our office which actually has a gym. I also understood that the rooms are slightly larger than is typical in Tokyo. I was not disappointed... the hotel itself is vast... a bit like staying... more

The Imperial is about location, location and location. It's simply impossible to find a place that is better located in Tokyo. And of course the name and history of the place carries with it a lot of prestige. Even though standards at this classic five-star are very high, there surely are better hotels in Tokyo. Having stayed here four times,... more

Purpose of the trip was business. I have actually stayed at this hotel a number of times in the past 3 years, but am only getting round to writing about it now. Usually stay 3-5 nights at the Imperial for business. Good central location in Ginza. 5 minute walking distance to department stores (eg. Mistukoshi and BIC camera). Palace across... more

We only stayed here two nights (business stay for my husband, leisure for me) but found the location good. Being in walking distance of the Imperial Palace and Ginza was great. There was a subway station outside the hotel so it was easy to get to other places too. The hotel room was bigger than I expected and was very... more

Been to Japan for five or six trips now. Heard about the Imperial Hotel, but had never tried it. I had to this time. While the rooms are great, the common spaces terrific, there are hotels more plush, and refined. But if you travel like i do, what goes beyond the rooms and the restaurants and common spaces is really... more
