Very nice parador in a beautiful region. Completely redone building. Large, very clean, rooms and bathrooms. Wonderful breakfast. Other meals are excellent, although the service is a little slow.

Modern, refurbished Parador conveniently situated near the motorway linking Madrid and Galicia in the vine-clad hills of Bierzo. The Parador is on the left just as you enter the town. Stayed as a group of 16 walking part of the Camino. Recently renovated (very well) parador.
Lovely rooms, spacious, windows that open for fresh air, very quiet area ( unusal in Spain!). Wi-Fi available, but not 100% in room.
Meal for the group very disappointing, this seems to be a common problem in Spain however may be different for travelling...

It is OK but it isnt anything special. For one there is a highway nearby that wrecks the views; there is no garden...just a patch of grass next to the parking lot!; the staff is mixed: some helpful others not; there is a lot new suburban style development nearby...yuk. There is only one reason in my opinion for the average...

My wife and I stayed three nights beteen santiago and Santander. although rated as 3* it was excellent value. Nice room, no air conditioning, view over valley marred by motorway. We enjoyed the night at the parador, beds were really comfortable and the room was spacious. the private parking secured our car.
The village is really small and there's not much to do except to go to the wine cellar palacio de Arganza. teh wine is delicious and so cheap, a bottle of 1997 costs around 5 €! we bought...
