This was one of the nicest hotels I've seen in Mombasa, Kenya. The rooms are somewhat simple and outdated but the stay at the hotel was definitly compensated for that. Excellent food at all times, ellaborated service at the bars and restaurants! I'm not an expert on luxury or hotels, but this seemed to me like spending a holliday with... more

We really don't know what people expect for their money and things onbviously won't be the same in a 3rd world country as in the UK! On arrival we were made very welcome and got an upgrade of room. Our room was big, a bit tired and the bathroom was 70s decor and could do with updating but we didn't... more

We arrived and up till the moment we got to the room,it seemed all nice and lovely. Our room was okay though we asked for a change of room from ground to 1st floor-got it pronto although we had to walk to the reception to be attended to. Our next room was lovely, facing the beach and all but hey we... more

We have just had two week at the Severin Sea hotel and I spent the last week of this very ill. I am still of my work two week after returning. People should be made aware that they bottle there own water and we had a very bad bottle and I blame this for my virus. The bottle went missing... more

We stayed at this hotel in aug/sep 2009, and would advise that the food is fantastic, the service and staff impeccable, the views out of this world and the relaxation second to none. The thatched huts and sea view are a dream and the choice of restaurants and meals second to none. If you are planning a holiday to Mombasa... more

This was our second stay at this hotel, we were there last for our wedding on the 5th of April 06 when we really enjoyed our stay and wedding ceremony. We were treated like royalties by the hotel staff. This time we returned in August, on my birthday. We tried for the same room as our honeymoon, room 444, but... more

We had a great time at the Severin Sea Lodge. The staff were so friendly and the food was incredible, tropical and with a great variety. The beach is beautiful although the beach boys give alot of hassle/pressure to buy. The rooms are not very modern and they could be cleaned a little bit better. We booked independent of a... more

The Severin has a lot going for it -delicious food, good service and friendly staff. However the rooms are still in the 70's and not particularly clean. Also, for 2 days we had no water at all, although the staff were apologetic. The Germans really like this hotel and we did feel sometimes as if we were staying in Germany rather... more

A good value hotel in an extremely poor country. Rooms were spotless and bedlinen changed on a daily basis. Staff were amazing and went out of their way to make sure you were always happy with the service. The hotel was only half full and as such A La Carte service in restaurant most nights. Food was good and well... more

We travelled to the severin sea lodge on 25th june to 10th july 2009 and it was our best holiday ever! Travel Company We flew first choice (england) and had hassle with them as our our flight was delayed 3.5 hours and had a short haul plane for a long haul flight.
