Booked with Newmarket Holidays, Flew Norwich/Verona/Norwich. Rip off £5 development charge ex Norwich Airport and flight two hours late not a good start with a crack of sparrow fart dawn takeoff time. Right first of all the two "bad" points about the hotel. It's is about 30 mins walk down to the Lake which is wonderful on the way down but nearly killed me on the way up! Also the walls in the hotel are a little thin. Having said that we did have a family with young children next to us... more

We (wife and two teenage boys) went on a Cosmos 'allocate on arrival' deal so had no real expectations. Location - were initially disappointed that it wasn't nearer the lake, but to be honest being up the hill above the Lake you get more sun and its quieter than being surrounded by loads of other hotels. what can i say. the hotel was great. food was great and the staff were great, room was clean, only sad part was not near the lake, but went on trips to lake with tour agent. will stay at hotel again and tell frends about it. The Hotel Continental is a great hotel in a lovely spot - just a shame it's a mile away from the lake and all the cafes/bars.
