We stayed at the Petwood last year with a coach tour company doing the Dambusters tour. We fell in love with the hotel before we had even got through the door!!!!! the tour was a hectic schudule and we didnt get the benefit of the hotel. So we decided to do it all over again but at our own speed....

Visited this hotel with our youngsters, for a Sunday day out and I was shocked to see how tired the hotel appears to be. It is a big hotel and has two main function rooms but I feel there is not enough staff to cope with all the restaurants and function rooms as we were always having to look for...

Living locally, and having called in for a drink, we knew the hotel and location were stunning. A Groupon voucher gave us the opportunity to indulge ourselves for a little longer. We went to the nearby Kinema in the Woods for a 12 noon performance - well worth a visit - and checked in to the hotel at 2pm.

We choose the Petwood to celebrate our anniversery as we got married there in 2001 and have very fond memories of our special day. In the best possible sense this was like going back in time - to the 1950`s -which I can just about remember. Lots of oak panelling gave the hotel a distinguished feel. Splendid room, lovely food - service was efficient and friendly. Particularly good value given that we were on a Groupon deal.

We had been planning to visit this hotel for a number of years because of its links to Bomber Command and 617Squadron and it didn't fail to deliver.
