A very beautiful place and a great breakfast. You will find everything you need in your room even a television and lots of books for rainy days. The rooms are very nice and offer a lot of space. There is a really nice pub across the street. But the best thing about this place is the breakfast - in quantity... more

Lets face it there are hundreds of B&B's that you could stay in on Skye but none of them even come close to the top quality surroundings and hospitality that Chris and Elaine have to offer at the Phoenix House. Our room (The Highland) was beautifully furnished, immaculately clean and had a fantastic onsuite shower room...(Nice Prawn Crackers too Chris lol... more

We stayed in the Phoenix house while visiting Scotland, and the B&B and Carbost were one of the good surprises of the trip. Rooms were really well decorated, details in all of them, breakfast with 3 different options, we had veggi and the salmon one, extremelly high quality and big portions. The owners were really nice, giving instructions about where... more

My husband and I recently stayed two nights at the Phoenix House on the Isle of Skye. Chris and Elaine were wonderful hosts, our room was beautiful, clean and spacious, and breakfast was heavenly. The homemade bread and jams are to die for! Carbost is a very convenient, central location from which to tour the western part of Scotland. There... more

- Chris and Elaine are interesting and engaging. We felt really welcomed into their home. - Lovely room, with a very comfortable bed and spacious bathroom (we stayed in the Rennie Mackintosh room) - Attentive breakfast service, and lovely local food including options (Smoked Salmon & Eggs, Pancakes with Bacon) beyond the standard Full Scottish breakfast - Great location near... more

Elaine and I would just like to say how pleased we are that our guests enjoyed their stay with us. We live in a very old house with a historic past and the last few years have been spent modernizing and turning it into a comfortable place for people to stay with us. We wanted to retain a family home...

Our trip was crazy from the time we started booking everything. Chris was very helpful and patient. We traveled with our 2 grown children and the whole trip remained a whirlwind. It was so nice to have found the Phoenix House. Clean, crisp, rooms. Big comfortable beds. Truly a great place to rest. The breakfasts were wonderful, our only regret... more

the village of carbost is small but welcoming and has of course the added attraction of the taliskar distillery. it makes a perfect central location to tour the island by car. the couple who run this b&b are friendly and laid back and very attentive when breakfast comes but don't trouble you other than that. the rooms are very well... more

If you plan a holiday at Isle of Skye, I suggest you to avoid to book your stay at PHOENIX HOUSE in Carbost. When you'll call to make your booking, you will be asked your credit card details (included the three digits on the back) and you will be charged the 20% straight away. No email with cancellation policies will... more

I am very glad that this review has been written as it gives me a chance to respond. It has made a nice change from the abusive phone calls and veiled threats I have been receiving concerning this incident which, if they continue, will be reported to the authorities. This booking was taken over the phone. Either I send my...

My wife and I loved our time on Skye, and the Phoenix House was part of the reason. We had a very clean and comfortable, well decorated room. We had a nice little view of Loch Harport out our window, which I enjoyed watching the the sheep wandering around on the opposite shore. It was nice to have a small... more
